Lithium 0 #1 Posted April 28, 2012 April 28, 2012 - 2pm eastern - CS:S Office Texas Lately on the texas server I've seen this Ranc!d guy under both names and he always runs and inredible score and i didnt think much of it until i noticed that there is always an account under the name "Sloppy Seconds" in spec. Now having been around the beta server at the time of P4 and Beast using ghosting accounts so I was curious. It looks like this guy is even more stupid than either of those two,he took a name of someone he seen in spec and used it on his ghost accounting but he doesnt even bother to have another steam id for it, they even have the same avatar! Please someone take care of this guy, its bad enough there are spinbots galore but at least u know they are there and can go to spec till they are gone, this is entirely more subtle and in a way far worse because it leads you to beleave these guys are actually that good. I have a demo showing him play but i didn't realise it doesnt show the scorecard on the demo when I popped it up so i will endevor to get that one in a screen shot. The demo is here http://www.filefactory.com/file/1y2juod7sm1z/n/rancid.dem it's not 100% damning but im positive im not the only one who can put two and two togeather. Ranc!d #H0RYSH3T / Ranc!d #Zer0 Sloppy Seconds STEAM_0:1:43165597 he has apparently also played form here STEAM_0:1:8540811 not sure if he was using a ghosting acct. from the second id but put it in here for refrence

teh_pwnerer 279 #4 Posted May 1, 2012 Thanks Lithium - I'm going to have to ask for a second opinion on this... as you say, there's nothing 100 percent damning in the demo, but ghosting is strictly forbidden so I'm not sure how to "prove" this. Can any other admins jump in with their thoughts?
rancid 0 #5 Posted May 1, 2012 Right, so this is rather ridiculous lol. First of all, I'm in game right now if anyone wants to verify this. Both sloppy seconds and I are playing at the same time - so I think that should debunk the whole "ghosting" theory. Sloppy Seconds is always in spec. Don't ask me why, I have no idea. Past that, anyone with administrative access to the server can very easily check the incoming IPs for verification purposes. ANDDDD, just to address an issue which I KNOW will come up (since it's come up ingame as well) - let me clear the air here and now. Here's a speedtest result of my current connection with CS:S, uTorrent, and a youtube music video running in the background. http://www.speedtest.../1926685179.png So no, I don't ping mask either. Good try though Edit: I just saw the "same avatar" comment. My avatar is nonexistant. I'm using the default "?" avatar. Again, good try.
teh_pwnerer 279 #6 Posted May 1, 2012 Thanks for your response Rancid - as you can see, we try hard not to ban innocent people, and that is why we have such a strict cheat-reporting system in place. A few weeks ago I was PM'd in steam to spectate you on the office server, and as you recall I did not think you were cheating at that time either. Until I am advised by another Lotus Admin otherwise, I see no proof of cheating at this time. You know we watch our servers carefully (through .dem submissions and otherwise) so don't take offense to threads like this if you are innocent. Remain mature and voice your side of the story - and providing you are cheat-free you will not be banned from Lotus servers.

Lithium 0 #8 Posted May 8, 2012 Firstly I know that sloppy seconds was in spec alot (perfect right?) but his avatar and the one on the ghosting account arnt the same nor are the steam id's or anything else for that matter, that was the first thing i checked. The Sloppy seconds account you were using was from the same city, had the same avatar, and was using the same steam id. I'm not an idiot. I realise now that giving you a heads up in game b4 posting was obviously a mistake. It gave you too much time to think, but i got you to stop playing with it so all in all I'm still content. You can spin it whichever way makes you feel better about yourself. That is all.

You can spin it whichever way makes you feel better about yourself. That is all. If it's from the same city, the pings wouldn't be so tremendously different (I'm normally cruising on a 7 ms ping, and last time I played with Sloppy, he was on a 60-70+). Secondly, you can't have two accounts off the same steam ID. That's impossible on any steam-oriented game, because user accounts are registered ingame by the steam ID. Sloppy not playing the server anymore is a total fluke and in no way associated with this. This is all verifiable by server logs. And again, the avatar I'm using is the default "?" avatar given to any steam user who doesn't currently have an avatar selected. I guarantee if you go ingame anywhere, you'll find at least 2-3 accounts with the same exact avatar. Well done sherlock . Again, you tried.
