Based 189 #1 Posted August 3, 2012 These Engie binds might be new to some of you and some of you already know this. These binds will help you build much quicker and destroy much quicker. You will never need to use your build menu and destroy menu ever again. Here are three easy steps on how to set up these binds. Step 1: Launch TF2. Step 2: Open Developer's Console. (If I'm correct the default key is the one to the left of 1) Step 3: Type In the following codes and click submit. *Note* You can replace "F1" or any of the keys that I put with any key that you want, I personally chose F1-F4 because it is close and convenient. Quick Build/Destroy Sentry: bind F1 "build 2; destroy 2" Quick Build/Destroy Dispenser: bind F2 "build 0; destroy 0" Quick Build/Destroy Entrance: bind F3 "build 1; destroy 1" Quick Build/Destroy Exit: bind F4 "build 3; destroy 3" If you only want to use the binds just for quick building/destroying, just delete the "build (0-3);" part of the code to delete quick building and "; destroy (0-3)" part of the code to delete quick destroying. These binds have helped me whenever I play Engie, especially Battle Engie because I am able to put down that mini sentry very quickly. if you have any questions or if I made a mistake in this post, please reply and tell me. I hope these binds help you with your Engie play. Oh and step 4: Throw away that Build Menu and Destroy Menu

Sphagnum Peat Moss 748 #4 Posted August 3, 2012 The thumb stick on the pad is a little weak, but the rest is nice and it's super comfy.

Harlequin 2,975 #7 Posted August 3, 2012 I switch weapons with mwheel with spy (mwheelup amby, mwheeldown knife, m3 is sapper) but as engi I use the wheel to build and destroy sentrys / dispenser. You can do so by easily add those config lines into your class-config files tf/config/engineer.cfg or ...pyro.cfg whenever you change class, the game will automatically activate that configs for you. What the Naga? For FPS gaming? Naaaaaaaaah, Deathadder all the way. Or the Mamba if you feel like splashing out. I find the two thumb buttons on those sufficient. Possum 10,776 #12 Posted August 4, 2012 btw I am also a Naga user. It beats the shit out of you. I'm sure it does, I just don't see why you need all those buttons for TF2 and the like.
+Skaila 5,462 #13 Posted August 4, 2012 I'm sure it does, I just don't see why you need all those buttons for TF2 and the like. If you play other games than TF2, it's an okay mouse. For MMO or RPG it's great. If you play it just for TF2 or FPS, than go for a different one. Plus this one has pretty colors xP
Harlequin 2,975 #14 Posted August 4, 2012 true, for RPG its awesome. It costs me alot of time to learn all that thumb buttons ;D hm,..whtas my tf2 mice buttons like.. 1 pyro panic button 2 mumble talkbutton 4 last disguise 5 voicechat 6 reload 7 pyro detonator jump 8 end - pyro detonator jump thats all atm.. because I am also using the G15 from logitech, some more bindings are on the G buttons
Possum 10,776 #15 Posted August 4, 2012 Why do you have a key bound to reload? TF2 is probably the only game where auto-reload has no disadvantages.
Harlequin 2,975 #16 Posted August 4, 2012 Why do you have a key bound to reload? TF2 is probably the only game where auto-reload has no disadvantages. first off: it has, if you are using the ambassador. Of course I am overloaded with scripts, so I don't have my viewmodel on when firing the ambassador. meaning, my autoreload is on when I switch to amby the ONE way other way: when I am using q (lastinv) the autoreload is disabled - for a good reason: fake reloading as spy. that's why I have this on a seperate key. Sphagnum Peat Moss 748 #18 Posted August 5, 2012 What the Naga? For FPS gaming? Naaaaaaaaah, Deathadder all the way. Or the Mamba if you feel like splashing out. I find the two thumb buttons on those sufficient. The deathadder is only 3500 dpi. The Naga is 5600. My old mouse is a Lachesis with 4000 dpi, and I definitely notice the difference. The Mamba is 6400, but it lacks the side buttons. They can call the Naga a RPG mouse, but those buttons are useful for more than just RPG. They're nice to bind RTS build keys to. I have small hands too, and when I use my keyboard buttons for switching TF2 items it often throws my positioning off until I'm running into a wall like a retard pressing e,s,d,f instead of w,a,s,d, sooooo the thumb buttons alleviate that issue for me. Also, I REALLY love the 'ring finger' resting spot. That shit does wonders for comfort.
Possum 10,776 #19 Posted August 5, 2012 Mamba has side buttons. Unless my tear ducts have stopped working and my eyes siezed up. 3500dpi is sufficient for me anyway. Yes, maybe I'd notice higher dpi, but its fine. Each to their own.
