RAGE FACE.

Having been on the receiving end of this yesterday, I can assure you it is unbalanced. The reason being is that you don't have any chance to prevent it going down at least 1 level. That is to say, as soon as the sapper is placed, your level 3 sentry is now 2. Then it slowly goes down to 1, then slowly to 0. But the fact that you have no time/opportunity to keep it from going to level 2 isn't balanced.

Of course valve won't nub it (or the Huo Long, also OP) for at least 6 months, so enjoy it while it lasts!

I toughts on this:

being a lonely spy: you are better with the normal sapper, and if you know you can dominate that engis.

if you know it might be a suicide mission, the red tape recorder is a very good team sapper.

having a sentry nest without a charge ready, you can run in, keep sapping, having the sentrys maybe going down 1-2 lvls EVEN when they get unsapped, you can still help you team even when you die, leaving lvl 1-2 sentrys ahead.

BUT, if you are not a suicide spy, you'll be better with normal sapper

A little overpowered in my opinion. i was playing engie yesterday and the red tape recorder was downgrading my sentry to level 1 faster then i could destroy it with my wrench. the spy only needs help from one soldier or demo and the sentry is destroyed in a few seconds even with the engie there fixing it.
