Banned For Spawnkilling

So at about 10:30 EST i was in dustbowl playing on a Lotusclan server when a demoman was pressing himself up against the gate that opens after set up. As a pyro, ive seen this trick been done before (not in this server): At an angle, i scorched him with my flamethrower and killed him, then i did it one more time to i think it was a scout at another gate. Then I was banned. Im not sure if it was a perma, so i decided it would be better to be safe then sorry. Steam Id = STEAM_0:0:40533211

I read them, but i just couldn't tell if it was a voteban because this is the first time ive been banned. Also I didn't see the voteban vote in the chat.

True, but people do that all the time on Dustbowl, and I've never seen anyone get kicked/banned for it. Its generally taken as "If you're stupid enough to stand next to the gate, you're gonna have a bad time." Or at least that was always my take on it.

As this may be the case, the fact that you can damage players trough the gates is a glitch, and exploiting it is just like exploiting any other glitch and may win you a ban. I know it's Valve's fault that they haven gotten to fixing it yet, but none the less, keeping from exploiting loopholes to gain an unfair advantage would be for the best.

I have to say, when I first saw this glitch I though 'By golly, what is this nonsense!? The spawn should be a sacred area!'

But after a few more times, I have to admit I find it rather hilarious when you see a pyro kill a taunting scout while simultaneously setting fire to a heavy eating a sandvich

It was a temp ban.

I was the one who you killed through the gate, then you were mocking in chat that it was the 2nd time you had killed someone last night doing the same thing (I do have a screenshot).

It's an exploit, I don't really care if everyone does it or not. When you kill someone right before the match starts, it puts them down one person when they need to push out (especially important on Dustbowl).

Most times I give a warning, but your comment about doing it multiple times solidified that this is probably a normal occurrence for you.

Is it the end of the world? Of course not. That's why the ban was only an hour (meaning by your 2nd post on this forum the ban had already expired).

Just avoid doing it in the future and we can all enjoy the game that much more.

I know what j did was wrong, but I'm not sure if by mocking you mean: "lol 2 kills already" honestly I was showing off to the other pyroxene on my team. But I guess a voteban was what the majority wanted.
