Banshee 236 #12 Posted September 7, 2012 No it was the school itself I needed to change some classes, so i'd wait there for 20-30 mins waiting to see one of the teachers to do it for them to say "we are starting a line in the hall, first come first served." When i went to get in line, there was already 30-40 people there. Then they wouldn't let me take the classes i wanted either
Possum 10,776 #13 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Funny story, my Dad is a fairly senior teacher/admin at the school I went to. Kid wanted to change his GCSE options, and of course they don't want to just do it because then everyone will want to change and it becomes chaos, and classes end up being stupid sizes, etc etc. So the depuy head tells my Dad to change the kid's classes (which turned out to be simple for this one), but make a massive song and dance, tell the kid that they can do it this once, but it was difficult, etc. Kid was really grateful, and his parents rang the school to thank them as well for putting all this work in to facilitate this. All this work was three mouse clicks. And then everyone was eaten by a fuck off dragon. Edited September 8, 2012 by Princess_Possum

+Skaila 5,462 #15 Posted September 7, 2012 I'll never understand the American school system. Here we're divided into groups of classes (we choose the 'group') and it's a fixed amount of hours and classes. So we get some Maths, geography, English, Dutch, French, German, chemistry, etc. Of course, lately classes have been getting ridiculously large (up to 30 in one classroom) >>

We get to pick a subject to focus on and get a degree in that field. American high school (I guess your secondary school?) is mainly 8 hour babysitting shifts for 17 year olds. Willerms 1,794 #17 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Changing classes at my school has been hectic this week. My school is undergoing extreme renovations and the first days of registration- the school was without power. Our math department is being renovated at the moment so the math classes are being held in portables outside. Shit is so cache. I hear that in some schools- the older kids are doing some sort of "initiation" for the youngsters that gets to be really extravagant. The only thing that I've observed is the fucking grade nines taking up the entire hall when sitting down to eat lunch and when they walk arm-in-arm through the halls. Shit just pisses me off. It also seems that the grade nines closely resemble fourth graders. I REALLY WISH I COULD PORTRAY THIS ONTO MY COMMENT. this fellow is also about 4'6" Edited September 7, 2012 by Willerms
Banshee 236 #18 Posted September 8, 2012 Oh yeah, they are like that at my school. They stand in the middle of the hall and take up most of it. it's annoying,Kids need to learn some respect and gtfo of the way
