Opinion Please

Recommended Posts

Hello again

Could I get an admin's opinion on this demo please?

This time I made sure to get a 1st person view as well, although the player called me out on it as soon as I want spec so I had to make it a damn long demo to give you the idea of what was bugging me.

They were getting consistent headshots, some of which seemed suspect to me. While I am spectating them and they are aware of it they did not snipe well at well, few hits, all bodyshots, no kills. Then I rejoin a team and back to the headshots. The second time I went spec they didn't seem to care as much and I believe I caught a few shots that show what was bothering me, with their crosshairs snapping to people's heads unnaturally.

Player name: Borgus

Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:16472420

Time: 11:00 PM 01/09/2013

Server: 24/7 2fort East Cost (x33)

If I'm wrong so bet it and sorry for the length.

Looks like a triggerbot to me. Anyone else got an opinion I'm not 100% on this one.

I can check it in a bit.

Demo keeps crashing around the minute 16, but from what i saw, he's just a bad sniper. If he had something, he probably turned it off while you were in spec obviously.

I agree when you say "his crosshair snapping to people's heads unnaturally", but maybe it's aything related to lag. Triggerbot, as far as i know, everytime the crosshair is over the enemy it fires auto, thing that doesn't happen sometimes.

This is a tough one.

hard to tell.

it's suspicious, no doubt about it. There were some strange headshots,

while he himself in 90% of time never aims for the head. watched with 12-24% speed,

sometimes I'd say it's a aimbot with a very small radius for fine-tuning(Auto Adjust Aim) (aiming normal, if enemy head gets too close, the view snaps and shots)

but sometimes it's just like "he sucked there, and this was a luckshot"

maybe he got aware of you spectating him again the second time after a few minutes.

really, I am not sure about this case.

Maybe we could use some intel from a good sniper, if this is a bot or common.

Brentbot.exe, where are you?

Yeah. 16 minute mark - Those have got to be aim assisted kills. I'm calling cheats.

Seen the demo again, only between 16:20 and 17:00 minutes you can see something that may look suspicious but even there i don't think so.

I say this needs more proof.

When i get home in a bit ill look at it

From what i was seeing, based on the broad sweeping of his aiming and the awkward timing of his shots, it looks very much like an old color bot + texture hack. Color bots can lag on the shots some times if the bot is lower priority on the cpu making them look bad. Just my 2 cents, seen this sweeping snipe shit before, to be honest alot of them have died down since Valve started messing with how the game reads custom texture packs. And since Lotus uses SV pure now he must be using a fully edited .gcf file. Which will get him vacced sooner or later when the game does a random validation check.

When Hazmat was spectating him the first time around, he was just terrible; missing everything, getting body shots. But the second time around, his crosshairs moved unnaturally for a headshot. Considering he stays zoomed in, I've never seen anyone move their mouse like that. But it seems a bit too inconclusive to say one or the other as far as cheating is concerned.

Thank you everyone for your input. I can't justify perma-banning a player if there is still doubt on the table. In this case we'll have to let it go.

Can't win 'em all.
