Clan Training?

Hi there.

Even though my mainnick is Detoxity, some of you might know me by my ingamenick Mystik.

I´m playing TF2 for a while now and over time i got addicted to your clanservers. Thx for that. ^^

I realy love Teambased FPS so i´m playing TF2 on a daily basis and i want to get better. Since i´m mostly playing the Medic or other supporters, the next Step (after playing for about 400 hours) would be to train with the same players over and over again, until i get to know them.

I have to get used to all these little things like movement patterns, keeping line of sight, behaviour under Fire etc. so i thought about joining your Clan.

But before I post an Application, I wanted to ask if you´re doing some sort of training within the Clan. Otherwise i fear, it could be a "waste of Time" undergoing the whole Recruittime and i might get frustrated afterwards.

I already used the search funktion but didn´t find an appropriate Thread.

We have weekly clan practices, but they're jut get togethers not training. We're really just a friendly community and being good at TF2 isn't a requirement nor do we train people up.

HOWEVER, there are a lot of good medics (obviously) you could play with, they're just little kittens and won't bite if you ask for a tip or two. So joining the clan would be a good way to meet some very talented players.

I second everything Ghost_Jor here says. Lotus is a community clan of friendly players who enjoy playing together and happens to have some very talented players, there is a little bit of an informal competitive nature (Some players made a 6v6 and 9v9 team together). But it is all good fun, there isn't any formal training in that some one will slack you off if your under performing, just the weekendly practise sessions which is pretty much just a load of fun as 25-30 of us cram onto a Lotus server and have a good laugh. I recommend applying though, lovely community from what I have seen so far.

Alternatively, Kitten, Cactus and Dr. Obvious are all excellent medics as well, all of whom I have learnt things from. Kitten is just lovely (but only knows how to pocket Tristan), Cactus is Canadian (but not too weird), and Obvious is your standard angry German.

Kitten knows how to pocket other people. It's just a matter of catching her when I'm not around!

My advice to you Detox is to try to find a server where people use voicecoms and settle in with the regulars. As time goes by, maining medic, you'll develop good working relationships with the players. Good medics need to know how their patients will react.

Between getting used to healing good players, and watching the other skilled medics you encounter, you should have good training.

As a medic you should at least know, wich player isn´t watching his back. It is extremly frustrating when you get stabbed, just because you can´t constantly run backwards.

Everyone is trying to kill medic, so patient must defend them. If I see player doesn´t give a f*ck about me as long as his ass has full health, I stop healing him and search for another patient.

And this ignorance can come from good players too. Some just don´t know how to play with pocket medic. You can´t rocket jump on battlements leaving me open to die by everyone while I have full kritz uber. Or charge like crazy if I don´t have uber and 5hp left. You just DO NOT do that
