FaintPulse 1 #1 Posted August 22, 2013 I've been a Lotus player for over two years. I've been a Lotus donor for almost two years. Normally, the friends of East Coast and Jersey get along great with me. Tonight I felt abused by a Lotus admin, and I'd like to report it. I was casually opposing spawn camping via chat...something that those of us on the East servers always do. I was reprimanded by L | Kitten. I'm not sure why? I was expressing popular opinion. No one liked the camping. Everything I suggested fell in line with the players of the server. I don't think I'm owed anything on these servers. I love Lotus. But please don't make me feel threatened when I endorse a popular suggestion to get rid of spawn campers. I've been helping out this server's cause (an awesome one!) for too long. Ruby 9,039 #3 Posted August 22, 2013 Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, we try to keep our servers as vanilla as possible. This includes making the choice of not banning certain weapons, or not banning certain playstyles, which includes spawncamping. Spawn camping is a legitimate tactic, and if you're getting trapped in a place with infinite health an ammo, it's only your fault I trust Kitten and she has one of the best reputations as an admin around here. If a Lotus server predominantly wants to oppose spawn camping, as a democratic forum, that seems correct. That's all I mean to suggest. Kitten wished to make me feel intimidated for helping a server. I guess players who want to play a certain way are simply not respected, especially if a majority of the server wishes this. Let me know. I'll make my decision based on this. I took a ton, and I'm sharing them, so that it's clear I'm being transparent and not showing a screenshot or two that supports me. I was *incredibly* helpful, far more than I needed to be. I was polite. I never said anything against you. Our "disagreement" started when I spawn camped for 30 seconds, and you killed me and told me to "eat shit and die." You harassed me, and when a fellow lotus recruit joined your team and heard me being called a loser, he stood up for me. You continued your harassment, mostly redirected towards Aeons. You kept saying how he was a bad player, a shithead, and a dick. You became irrationally offended when I asked you to not abuse lotus members. You told me "I'd like to see you gone now." Despite all this, the only thing that I did was to warn you not to abuse lotus members, and inform you that spawn camping wasn't against the rules. I spent so much effort talking to you because I thought you were a nice person with a problem I could help - obviously your only problem was not having the admins in your back pocket because you donate. Jabberwock 273 #11 Posted August 22, 2013 As a person who very much enjoys 2fort, but doesn't tend to enjoy spawn-campers, I would like to comment, if only briefly. Spawn-camping isn't against the rules. A short spree where the people pop up to keep the enemy busy while their team rushes to grab intel or keep their intel from being nabbed, I can understand. Or like Kitten mentioned, a little 30 second murder-spree is fine too. However, when one team dominates the other so badly that it's a 3-0 loss enough that the server has to auto-scramble, the spawn-camping gets a bit much. Saying "Just don't be bad and you can avoid it" is easy to say, but not easy to do. I'd say however, starting vote-kicks or bans is going a little far in this endeavor, though from personal experience, I've seen it happen to someone who not only constantly just tried to camp spawns every opportunity he was alive, but would badmouth anyone he killed. That I can see causing people to want to kick 'em, even his own team. And if one team is dominating the other so bad they're spawn-camping them for 3 rounds in a row, I can't say I'm a fan. That often leads to the server clearing out fast, which is the main reason I dislike spawn-camping. But again, if it's almost the entire enemy team doing it, not much can be done about it, other than hoping when auto happens, the teams get balanced out enough and people don't just leave. In short, please don't be a prick and spawn-camp continuously and insult people you kill. For the game to be fun, you need other people to play, and if you drive 'em off, the server dies and you gotta move elsewhere, to god-forbid a less fun server. Also, stop badmouthing 2-fort, I love the map, dammit. Just because you have experiences finding tougher fights on other maps doesn't mean 2-fort sucks. Stupid ressafressa mapists.
