Faintpulse Unban Request

I'd like to ask I be unbanned. I had a tough time with a Lotus admin in which I told the person to "eat shit and die :P" among other things. This seems to have gotten me banned. In any case, I'd like to re-up my donor subscription and begin playing on Lotus again as the competition on Skial just isn't as good. It's not great on Lotus either but...2fort what do you expect? Please advise.

I don't think an unban is completely out of the question here... but everybody needs to get on the same page...
1. we need a personal apology to Kitten
2. stop acting about you being a donor is like the end-all to us. You are like waving it in front of us like we care, none of us make any money being a member or admin, we do this for the sake of our community.
3. If you are unbanned, that doesn't mean you need to donate, do so if you want to help fund the server as all other donors do.

4. If you do donate, you are given privileges, not rights. Donor privs can be revoked if they are abused, and you won't be able to sue us for doing so, you are making a donation, and we are saying thank-you, you are not paying for a service which is being revoked.
5. Abuse of the privs include kicking people for invalid reasons. Spawn camping is not a valid reason, even if 90% of people vote in favor, we won't have our players bullied when they are playing the game within the rules.

When all of these points are acknowledged, an unban MAY be possible, at which point there would be a zero tolerance policy put in place for any further incidents.

So please, soak that all in, and respond here. I recommend trying to be humbled by this experience, and drop the condescending entitled tone.

1. Kitten, I'm quite sorry. We had a great convo, but yes, it ended in me being quite a tool.

2. Being a donor is not an end all.

3. I'd like to donate anyway. Lotus seems worth supporting.

Cactus was the one who actually implemented the Ban... So we can not progress further with this until we get input from Him, and obv. from Kitten as well. We appreciate the patience.

I have to say I'm of two minds on this question.

I don't believe what you did in game warrants a ban. You obviously felt very strongly about spawn camping, and that came out in insults and general antagonization directed towards myself and a lotus recruit. It wasn't very nice, but it wasn't worthy of a ban. I'd say it was just a bad day for you, but as you wrote in your original complaint thread:

That I called anyone a "shithead" in a videogame seemed pretty normal."

It would seem that "f### you" "a##hole" and "d#ck" are a regular part of your vocabulary.

The biggest issue to me is your sense of entitlement from donating (a lot of us here donate, just so you know, including myself).

When I gave you a warning for abusing a lotus recruit, your response was:

"i'm a donor for more than two years

so please

warn me"

and

"Kitten

don't "or else" me

I'll get rid of you"

Despite your attitude towards me in game, I did really want to make you happy - which is why I stayed up late and spoke to you privately over steam.

Then, despite the only thing I'd "done" "against" you being a verbal warning to not abuse lotus recruits, you decided that you'd "like to see me gone now." You went out of your way to persecute me and try to get rid of me, by creating an account on the forums and coming up with this fiction that I abused and intimidated you.

The only reason you've "apologized" now is that you've realized threatening to stop donating got you nothing, and that lotus really is a good, unique community that cannot be easily replaced.

So for all of that, yes, in my opinion, you deserved the ban.

But, assuming you can behave on lotus servers, and not abuse our members or admins when they join your server, I would not be opposed to moving on and giving you a second chance. Your more questionable behavior was directed against me, not the server. That final decision is of course not up to me, but I trust Cactus' decision on this matter, whatever it is.

Also, if we ever run into each other in game again, how about turning over a fresh leaf? I really think we could get along. =)

I'm sure we could get along. I get along with anyone who plays well. I have no sense of entitlement.

Honestly, I'd love to have Kitten as a friend. She seems capable of playing against. Honestly, all this is me wanting good competition.

Buck up, Kitten. My "eat shit and die" was followed by a but I guess you feel good leaving that out. Get used to public servers, or stay off them. I'm done donating, and I wish I wasn't. The presence of people like you, though, really helped me decide. It's been a good two years. I'll now be advocating against Lotus with any friend I can on Steam.

Trolling admins is bad, threatening to talk shit about Lotus to whoever will listen is worse.

People do deserve second chances, but only if they are actually willing to change.

Your ban will be reduced to 1 week, starting today. Once that ends, you are not off the hook though. There will be absolutely no tolerance for any behavior of this kind. Any relapses, and you will be permabanned.

Ban will officially end on Aug 31, 2013 at 1:23 AM.
