Tf2 Fort Uk 33-Whats The With The Afk Timer?

I play on this server (95.154.193.26:27015) and other lotus tf2 servers a lot but today when i went to get a drink 2 mins i was kicked as inactive.

Im a donator and i dont sit idle like other players this is unfair please make the afk time a little more. I understand why you guys have done this as tehre are a lot of people joing the server and not doing anything but the current timer is kinda unfair to genuine players, and as a donater its a real kick in the balls.

We're currently experimenting with a more aggressive afk kicker, after getting feedback from players that there were too many inactives not being auto-kicked. Currently, the server will move you to spectate if it detects you as inactive. If the server is full, you now only have 1 minute before it will kick you from spectate. Though obviously as a donator you should be able to rejoin without hassle (connect [iP] in console).

I understand your frustration as it may seem a bit harsh, but the changes were only made after a lot of complaints about afk's taking up server space, and the kicker not being aggressive enough. Some servers get very busy at peak times, and we want to make sure that as few people as possible are unable to play because of inactive players.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback. If anyone else you come across has thoughts on the new kicker, please point them this way, the more people we hear from, the better an idea we will have over whether we need to change it again.

I don't see why the frustration, fuzzy. As a donor you benefit from reserved slot so you can always rejoin even if the server is full.

How to not get kicked for inactivity: Don't be inactive.

Seriously, you just said you went afk and got autokicked for it, meaning the afk kicker is doing its job. So the problem here is....?

As a donor, I don't mind being kicked .. as you said I can just rejoin no matter what. However, if the server is empty because no one wants to play with such a short timer ... then it doesnt do me much good.

I don't disagree that someone who is away for a couple of minutes is AFK and don't even disagree that something should be tried. However, if the result of a more restrictive policy is an emptier server and less players, then the alternative (AFK players) seems better to me.

As far as I understand, you won't get kicked unless other people are trying to join a full server.
