Temp Ban Request For Goober

Goober Nov 15th approx time on server 9:30pm to 11:30pm PST. TF2 Hightower West Coast 216.158.69.35:27015

There were several people involved in this shit storm but it was Goober that started the whole mess. Goober was basically just trolling on the server, playing a Heavy but not attacking anyone. When someone would kill him he would complain about that person killing a "friendly" player. He would say in chat that servers ban people for killing "friendly" players. He was basically just wasting a player slot and then complaining when ever he got killed.

He got several other players on his team to start agreeing with him in chat, but the real problem came when they started spamming vote kicks and vote bans against people for no valid reason. Again he kept saying for "killing friendly players" and claimed that was being "disruptive". He and his buddies who were trolling were the only ones causing the actual problems. They started several vote kicks and bans but I am not sure how to pull up the logs for that and hope and admin can.

One of the vote kicks did go through against a player on my own team, Niklonify. When that vote passed Goober and his buddies tried to use that as justification that the vote was legit. It was not. As I said I was on the same team as Niklonify and he did NOTHING wrong. He was not spamming text or voice chat, he was just playing the game normally. I know people in the clan like to say any vote that passes must mean the vote was legit but that was not the case.

It was just another example that lazy people just press 1 to get the prompt off their screen. There was no reason for that vote to go through or to be started in the first place. After that vote Goober and his pals started numerous other votes, but thankfully none of them went through. I attempted to get an admin on the server to get them to knock off starting the votes and that seemed to keep the more honest people from agreeing to start those votes.

There were no admins on at the time unfortunately, but I did discuss the issue with Mana. He was busy at that time but did at least adjust the delay on starting new votes remotely in an effort to help stop the votes.

None of this is a major violation of the rules, but the over all behavior and Goober's flat our refusal to stop trolling is enough in my opinion to request a temporary ban. I think his buddies deserve one too but since he was the start of it all I am making the ban request for him. You can also see in his chat logs that he tried to convince people to start a vote kick against me, claiming I was AFK even though I was running around killing stuff.

Just for the record, in case a staff members wants to look into more info on the situation, the second biggest offender in this mess was

He was participating in all the vote kicking and banning nonsense and you can also see in his chat logs him making the same claim that the votes were justified because people were killing him and Goober when they ran around being useless.

I only ask for temp bans in these situations as it is the only way to make it clear to people that trolling and spamming votes for nonsense is not OK and to document a pattern of behavior if the behavior continues in the future.

If nobody else has any input on the matter, I'll have a personal chat with each of these clowns after I review the rest of their chat logs tonight, to let them know that votebanning people for their weapon choice, for killing "friendly heavy," spamming trades, and some of the other shit I see them doing, is not acceptable. Depending on how that goes, we'll see if any of them want to take a timeout to think about what they've done.

Gee gee apologized for his behavior and promised not to do it again. Goober would not respond to me, and looking over the chat logs, he definitely was the instigator and was extremely disrespectful toward you, so he's taking a free week's vacation.
