Mana 3,867 #1 Posted February 7, 2014 A while back valve prevented servers from giving out custom hats. Yesterday they announced that servers can no longer modify valve items either. This means we can unfortunately no longer offer hat effects or colors as a donor benefit. All other benefits are going to stay unchanged. The new restriction takes effect once the next TF2 update is released (later today). Modifications not allowed in quickplay Granting or modifying economy items, or taking actions that devalue players' items, or interfering with the TF2 economy We will be adding more donor benefits later on as well as other effects. This thread can be used to request any other benefits if desired. So long as they don't conflict with valve's restrictions. Personally, I'm somewhat glad they're gone, because a fancy hat doesn't mean you have fancy skills. (Real Hat or not) Another thing of Valve... Yet server operators need money too...
