I Can't Host.. I Can't Join..

Question

I'm just wondering if I can host even my internet is shared? Is there any solution for this? Is there any setting that let your connection can join quickly or dirrectly to the host? For those who can't host, is there any chance for them to host?

Please share your knowledge because you might know some solution according to your observation and setting...

~OR~

Can we possible play multiplayer game over the internet without using gamespy at all? Yes, but I.P doesn't work if we have a shared internet... All most of us have 2 or more computers at home..

Is there any people out there can host even their connection is shared?

Yes you can host even if your internet is shared. The solution is what I wrote on the other post.

1. Assign your PC a static IP Address

2. Enable port forwarding to your IP Address on ports 7174,7175 & 7177

What make and model of router do you have?

I don't even know what router do we have... But we connect to the internet with HAWKING Hi-Speed 54G Wireless technology.. A USB device.. 4 Computers has 4 same devices, and where is the router? MY UBS device connect aumatically every time I log in to windows XP.

Look at this..

What the connection info tells you is,

1. You have been assigned an private address of 192.168.1.100 by DHCP. When you switched on your PC the router assigned you that address. (The subnet mask just tell you it is a class C address therefore you can have 254 hosts on the LAN)

2. The default gateway address is the internal address of your router, so... Yes you do have a router.

Hawking make several wireless routers so its difficult for me to guess withoput a model number. It will be on the device somewhere.

OK, that is not the router, your router will be somewhere else....your router will be somewhere else. Try looking where your phone line comes into the house, follow the cable, it will lead to the router!!

You said you had like 4 computers? Well the router is probably located around the main one, the one that has all your connectors to go online and stuff

It is usually written on the router itself, look carefully at it, you should find a model number somewhere on it. I can tell you one thing for sure though, you don't need to look inside the router for the model.

Most routers are different and with different connections different things will happen, that's why some people can't host but don't block, or why some people block and can't host at the same time, and the people without routers will be able to do everything

Routers can be customized though my opening ports so you will be able to host and join games

I am the one who can't host and block too.. Grrr.... I better use my dial-up.. but the problem is, we only have 1 phone number... If I use my line.. the other 3 phones will be useless.. So. I rather play 1v1 with someone who can host.. or 2v2 but join the last.. LoL.. I am so sad... I am so lazy to see the back of my router to see the model.. hmm.. it sticks on the wall..
