Darklune 0 #1 Posted October 13, 2006 Whenever I play assassin I end up killing a whole-lotta people, but I also die a lot too. (See attached image from a session in the MANA MP #2 Server): My question for Crone is: how the hell can I die a little less? Junnio 0 #4 Posted October 14, 2006 I HAVE AN IDEA ! I allways do a backstab and run away ! No I'll give (try to give) a better explanation. When u want to cloak somewhere, start cloaking and stand still so ur invisible (if ur cloaked and holding a stance the ppl CAN see you, prolly darklune knows but maybe beginner-assasins not) So if ur invisible you start looking where ur standing, DON'T GO INVIS IN CORNERS ! ppl expect that and when I am mage and I enter a room knowing the enemies have 2 or 3 assasins, i first strat fire-arrowing all the corners) So go invis in the middle of the room or such, then start looking for exits, places that are possible runaway spots.(DON't RUN TO ENEMIE FLAG SPOTS !) Then the enemies come, BACKSTAB 1 PERSON IF U ARE ALONE THEN RUN, if there are like 2 enemie warriors, and u are assasin with a mage next to u, the warriors will try and kill the mage cuz ur invis, so u have some time to try and kill both warriors, only do this when ur not alone, otherwise u prolly get killed cuz ur spotted allready. When u killed 1 or more persons, start running to the exits u saw, choose the one with no enemies and run like hell ! Because you just backstabbed a person and weren't cloaked u should regained ur mana so start cloaking again and go invis when u are sure the enemie can't see u (behind a corner or something BUT AGAIN DON'T STAND STILL IN CORNERS, try to invis in a spot that no-one would think of. Also don't invis in the middle of a tight walkway, the enemies will bump into u and notice that there is an assasin !) ALSO when u kill some1 don't invis again next to his body, even if there aren't any more enemies... why not u ask? because they can see you 15 seconds longer and they remember where u invised, so they come get revenge cuz they know where u are. I know it is alot, I hope it helped a bit and if it didn't help u darklune, maybe it helped some othere assasins that didn't rlly understand the class. 1 more tip: don't get poison dagger or aertitial strike daggers, they rlly suck: FIRST go for longer cloaking, then for muffle footsteps and then for stamina (--W that's how I do it, you don't have to do this cuz I don't say it's the best thing to do, it's just how I do it) 1 more thing to know for beginner assasins: when u are standing still, cloaked and invis, you can look around with your mouse ... you won't get spotted if u just look around (i didn't know that first so I never chenged my camerapoint, got killed ALOT cuz I didn't see ppl behind me) Well, have fun reading ! Dark Killer 0 #5 Posted October 14, 2006 hm.. maybe we should do some kind of faq for every class.... now a tip from me... i have just played and died bcause of it several times me as a warrior was hunting an enemy down... as you know warriors don't have much stamina... so after i got the kill i was moving slowly for a shot time... and then was backstabbed.... but if you try this you need to be fast or silent enough so the warrior has no time to react... another trick i saw before was to lay a mine at tight passages (e.g. the wooden stairs from the forge up to the bridge) and stay cloaked near the mine... when there is someone coming this way the mine explodes and he will have a hard time to see you even if you move cloaked and in addition he may be disorientated enough so that you have all the time you need to backstab Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Darklune 0 #6 Posted October 15, 2006 Wow, thanks guys! I know what you mean by not cloaking in corners. I never do that 'cause when I play warrior I like to go slash-happy in corners (I'm uber paranoid about being back-stabbed BTW). Also, the thing about cloaking when they can see during their 15 second respawn time is something I've thought of. Good stuff. I am trying to impliment the "find an escape route strategy" a little bit more, but it doesn't always seem to work out how I intend I guess that overall I think it is kinda pathetic that I can get so many kills with such a gimped assassin ... doesn't say much for the other players Looking at it again I see that SeveN did pretty well for himself and I remember that that Kenny McKormic guy TK'ed like a mother-f**ker.
