Watching Q duels reminds me that duels in Quake and Quake 2 are far more interesting than MGE...it adds an element of territorial and item control you just don't get with MGE.

I guess they are different and MGE is not trying to be quake duelling but....it makes quake duelling look far more interesting a spectacle to watch.

They should have a duelling mod for TF2 which is based on item and territory control...rather than just the latter

I bet we know some talented people who could make this happen. "Items" could just be a graphic that when picked up gives Uber, Crits, Health, or any other gameplay effect - Spy invisibility for example.

IMO duelling only really works with certain classes....otherwise you end up with spy invisible for 10 minutes just watching you run around the map. I not so sure it would work in TF2. I recommend everyone tries Quake Live though...you play it through a web browser...I always said id were technologically superior to Valve

Quake Live is essentially Quake 3. I'm not a fan of it, I much preferred Quake 2, but I will be playing it again soon I think. I miss the higher pace of the game and the duelling.

Haha, I wonder what you would think of people being sneaky in quake duels by triggering sounds to set ambushes, walking sometimes, using ledges for ambushes....that kind of thing.  Already seen a lot of this at QuakeCon...I miss exactly this stuff...makes it more intense and unpredictable.

I believe theres a quake dm mod for tf2, where u basically have the rocket launcher, sniper no scope for rail gun and i think theres a lightning gun as well
