I Need help in gamespy arcade

Question

hi, my ask is: why cant host games in gamespy arcade???

other people only can see my games but cant join, anyone know why?

my tecnical data

windows xp sp 1

Battle realms 1.50q winter of the wolf

modem adsl 512 kb USB connection

I have router, and I can't host either. I really miss being able to host, How do you fix the router, anyone?

yea dude i felt like crying the first time i got a router.. [sT]Turtle tried helping me with it but he said something was diffrent about mine and he couldnt help.. so yea i need uber help on it x . x

mhhhmmm I will look around in t he old forum to see which ports you have to have opened in your router and then I will post a Tutorial on how to.

A router or firewall has nothing whatssoever to do with this. Thats a noobish reply. A wall is always needed to be off if you wan't to play online games to the full extent its not just for BR. A router isn't the problem, a router has certain ports which let people connect to you, etc... If you turn off a router you won't have internet.... So who ever said turn it off is alittle mental :P No offense, that was a joke.

We didn't meant that, (we assumed that the reader had enough common sense to realizen that we meant ports.) This isn't a Literary Utopia, dovesink.

Dove you are wrong, very wrong. The firewall can be open as long as it has ports forwarded. Its a good idea to have a firewall especially if you post your IP online when doing games whitout gamespy. And you can turn of the router if you want to, however if you have more then one pc all others except for one will not work. (the internet in others that is)

well your problem is the router right?

There is different types of routers and each one has different ways to configure them so, i might be able to help you or might not be able to.
