Voteban Suggestion (I'm mad)

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I was just playing TF2 on a LotusClan server when all of the sudden a whole ton of people start getting votebanned. huh.png  I kind of get mad, because those people weren't doing anything wrong, and so I stand up and tell the idiot spammers to stop votebanning. happy.png Then we're in an argument and some idiot starts to voteban me. ohmy.png I wasn't even doing anything wrong, so the majority say no and I am kept on the server. Then he votebans again. And there was a majority vote and I was banned for spam. sad.png I wasn't spamming, I was arguing with the guy. If anyone should've gotten banned or for spamming, it should've been the idiot. I just wanted to know if each person could only have one voteban per hour, or no "double jeopardy" or just no voteban at all, and just reporting people. I really was pissed though, because I had done absolutely nothing wrong and wasn't even cursing. Which shouldn't really matter since TF2 is rated M. Not that I know if it is a rule or not on Lotus Clan. sleep.png Thanks for reading... please consider my suggestion, because I HATE getting votebanned for no reason. BTW how long do votebans last? huh.png

Yeah, votebans last 30-45 minutes. So you should be able to play again by now, atleast.

If this happens again, there are a few things you can do:

1. Open your console and record a demo "record [demoname]"

2. Open your console, type "status" and take a screenshot of the names and steam ids

3. Use !calladmin to call one of our admins on the server

4. Get as much evidence as possible (demos [record], screenshots [F5; F12], console logs [condump; con_logfile]) and post a ban request on our forums. Even if we decide not to ban, we are aware of the player for future disruptions.

Yeah, we can ban at a later date so as JB said get the evidence, as much as you can including things like others on the server saying the person being vote banned has done nothing wrong. This gives us a fuller picture of what's going on. A demo is the easiest way to do it but remember to either record the bit where you use the status command in console or get a screen shot of the results of using the status command.

      Hello,

I was on your server today and came across two people claiming they're admins (Gazellenaire and Atomic Spark, I did not see them in the Admin list, but it hasn't been updated in a while) votebanning random people in a server. When asked why I was being votebanned and if I was breaking any rules, Gazellenaire typed in the chat "Nah" and "We are admins." One of them also said over microphone it was for something along the lines of "Destroying his shit".

Here are the screenshots I've took of them votebanning others and me (I escaped the temporary ban, but others like "Low_Battery" were not so lucky:

I was playing some good ol' Turbine when I killed 3 ppl with a rocket and in excitement I said "rekt". It was nothing personal but I guess out of their rage they votebanned me. Its ridiculous. All i'm asking is that you please have an admin monitor that server in particular because recently there's been a lot of unfair votebans and the occasional hacker so ya. Thanks in advance

      server 66.55.148.155:27035
      Player  Ransom e. olds http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198050395494

I was playing on this server 66.55.148.155:27035. and there is this hacker called Ransom e. olds http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198050395494 i did spec and and he has unnatural movement like turning around too fast and seems to know when an enemy is behind or near him and a killing spree of like 14 i think and just a visible hacker. And this player abusing hte voteban on that server after i tried to do voteban on that hacker and he also said a racist thing. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197960447194 I also did !calladmin but no admin came. The hacker was playing as a heavy and he knew if a person was a spy or not.  There is nothing else to say but where have all the admins been when the server needed them?

I was on the server on 1/1/2014 don't know the exact time but i would say about 3:30 pm.

I do not have any proof because i thought an admin would come when i did !calladmin.
I posted this on lotus steam group thing too.

Hello, today I was playing TF2 when this troll just started vote-banning everyone. I really shouldn't be saying this, but his IN-Game name was "Shogun Peat Moss", or something like that. Any-who, I got vote-banned and I would appreciate if you can unban me, since I really like playing on Lotus Servers.
Also, shouldn't the "Vote-Ban" option should only be for Admins and Donators, not random trolls. Just Saying.
      Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:62889844
      Thanks

I also forgot, I did read the VoteBan sticky, as it will go away in a while, but a troll vote-banning, this is a problem.

I was wondering what are the new rules for the votekick and voteban system? I don't use the options and I haven't been reading the lotus forum, so I was wondering any changes the donators should know. I just saw on one of the threads the poll to make votebans permanent pass? If this is true I can accidently ban someone and make that person waste time getting unban. Does the voteban % have to be 80 or is it 70 now? Does votekicking a person 3 times I think make a 15min ban still? Thx for your time and sorry if the post annoys people.....
