Minia 1,211 #1 Posted January 26, 2015 Hello friends! This thread here is to show some information on the server I am running with the help of JB and volunteering administrators. After the interest in a minecraft server was found I went ahead and got to work on setting up a server I already had to transform it into a unofficial, community made minecraft server for lotus and friends. The server is dedicated and located in the EU in the wonderful city of Amsterdam running with a few basic and undemanding plugins that will allow for a slightly modified but still vanilla-feeling experience. It offers a survival world consisting of basic protection, an economy and shops and we also have a creative world for those who wish to build some cool creations! You will have the opportunity of getting smashed with milk whilst sitting down (literally) with your mates and chilling out after a hard night of building fortresses in the world of survival and creating awesome builds in the creative world. Do not worry, everything is logged and backed-up in case of any accidents or griefs Rules Rules are simple, no griefing or stealing. Respect other players and please do keep away from other people's builds! Do not build your house right beside someone else's in a massive field. Unless they're running a town and allow it Server Information The server is currently ran by myself as well as JB. We will be setting up an administration team and helpful guide at some point. If you wish to join you may do so at lotus.beastmc.com Make sure to to apply here to get your permissions so you can join in on the action! Make sure to have joined the server AT LEAST once! Steam Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/lotusminecrafteu Multiverse: The server offers two worlds, Survival and Creative. Each world has its own properties meaning you will not be able to change your gamemode and your inventories will be different. This prevents corruption from block spawning and within the server economy for people running shops. Use the portal by the clock tower to change from one world to another. Note mob-damage is enabled in Survival meaning blocks will be damaged aswell as yourself unlike in the Creative world! Coreprotect: The server is using core-protect to log every action that takes place, this will allow us to find the criminals with ease and reverse their disgraceful work! Coreprotect is a low-performance anti-grief plugin that takes notes of every action including block placement/removal, messages on signs and worldedit so there is nowhere to hide or run. Essentials: Essentials is the core plugin, it manages all basic commands as well as chat, groups and spawns. Check out /help to see all the commands you are able to get, note some may come in VERY handy especially /hat! LWC: LWC is the most popular plugin for player security. It allows players to lock their chests, furnaces, signs.. infact anything they wish! Use /lock to lock things to yourself! You can also check out more useful commands with /lwc. ChestShop: ChestShop is a very simple plugin that allows people to create shops using signs and chests to sell any items to anyone. Shops have to be re-stocked and maintained by the owner and use LWC to be protected. Kemmrah 13 #4 Posted January 26, 2015 Rather than having to lock everything with signs or /lock, If you use GriefProtection, players can claim an area that basically disallows all players to do anything in their area apart from open doors (they can allow other players access by using /trust) . What's more is they have a limit of blocks they can claim and the longer they stay on the server the more blocks they gain. And the best part is if a player asks how to make a claim in chat (even if it's like 'sup bitches how do I protect my house?") they will receive a link automatically, to a video showing them everything they need to know. Sorry but I'm trying to keep the server as vanilla as possible.
