So, gun mettle update was released today and there have been many new hud files.
While going through the new hud files I found plenty of elements connected with competitive so I thought I'd share.
1. Play competitive button in gamemenu.res
This one pretty much defines what a button in the main menu will do. So comp won't be hidden somewhere behind a little button in quickplay, there will be a button in the mainmenu itself to play comp matchmaking.
2. "if_competitive"
These "if_xyz" are used to have different value for a property for a certain senario, in this case for competitive. There are quite a few "if_competitive" added, most of them in the mainmenu and the tournament hud. In the mainmenu they move several elements down 26 units. In the tournament hud they seem to create a new layout for comp matchmaking.
3. Competitive party in lobbycontainer frame
This one has several subelements. It's pretty much what you know from mvm parties, but for competitive. Here you can create a party, invite friends, all that stuff.
4. Competitive mode groupbox in lobbyframe
So, this is an element to select your gamemode. Valve wouldn't add a groupbox if there was only one gamemode available. So far we didn't know what gamemode there will be (atleast I didn't), so this is kinda interesting.
And indeed..
Not much to say about this, there are two leaderboards for 6s and 9v9 listed which makes me strongly believe they will add both.
5. The button for matchmaking in the mainmenu
And the last one, the element defining what the button will look like in main menu.
I actually changed the menu to what the "if_competitive" values said, added the play competitive button and so on
