Team killing points problem

About 3 or 4 times over the past few days I have killed enemies and then lost 50 points for team-killing? I obviously killed enemies; why is this happening and can I get my points restored?

I've had this happen a couple times before also. I think it happens when you kill Player X and they immediately get auto-balanced to your team. Maybe the kill is logged just a tenth of a second too late to be recognized correctly. The stats read that Player X is on your team now, and that the game is reporting You killed Player X. So it thinks you killed your teammate. I am probably 99.9% wrong because I don't have an understanding of how hlxstats works. I believe it is also still in Beta. So take this with a grain of salt.

 

As for points being restored I don't think that is possible(?) or that it is done at all. Just have to climb back up to where you were :/

I think this happened when you changedteams with donator menu aswell, but only showed as teamkill (-50) and actually gave you the positive points.

I've asked Mana about this yesterday, his guess was that its because of the autobalance system. (if i remember correctly)

Apparently the stats sometimes dont recognize players after they got autobalanced.

 

I'm not quite sure if this really is the reason tho, as i killed 3 people in a row earlier and lost 50 points each time, and i dont think they all got autobalanced. (screenshots available)

As for the point restoration i have to agree with Dongles: i'd just go on killing people, you'll have your points back in like 20 minutes "serious" playing

 

Edit: Just happened again, and again it was on suijin. Never had the problem on upward / one of the old maps

Depends on who gets switched, and it happens from both the auto balance and the team scramble. If you get scrambled/switched from Blue to Red, but the person you killed just got scrambled from Red to Blue, it doesn't seem to trigger anything as you were both enemies before the scramble/switch. But if you get scrambled/switched from Blue to Red and then kill a previous Blue teammate, you'll get hit with the -50 point Team Killing penalty as it thinks you're still on the same team. 

This only seems to last until you die the first time after a scramble/switch though, so a kill in console should keep it from happening until an actual fix is found. 

*I just tested this, lost yet another 100 points for killing the same person twice, used Kill in console and didn't lose any points the next time I killed that same person. 550 points total lost to this so far.

Yes, I've lost a lot of points due to this issue and it is getting annoying. Is there a potential fix for it?

This only seems to last until you die the first time after a scramble/switch though, so a kill in console should keep it from happening until an actual fix is found.

I just killed someone right after typing kill in console, still lost 50 points tho...

If that's the case there's nothing we can do about it. I have no idea who the stats work, but maybe the penalty for team killing could be disabled completely.

Aren't stats going to be resetted once they're final anyway?

 

Either way, I saw this today aswell on an other player. I think I changed to spectate right after he killed me and it said he lost 50 points.

36 team kills so far. I tried "retry" in console earlier directly after the teamscramble (disconnected -> reconnected) and lost 50 points on my first kill
