fever 9,884 #3 Posted August 12, 2015 I play it with the sound up and the lights down and the first few hours of playing nothing had to be happening for me to be twitchy as hell

Ultimate 702 #6 Posted August 12, 2015 That skin detail is ridiculous. Does it look that good on modest hardware?
fever 9,884 #7 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) That skin detail is ridiculous. Does it look that good on modest hardware? Yeah, I thought it was pretty damn fine. My machine is about 4 years old....i7-2600, ATI GTX-560, 16GB ram, SSD...nice but certainly not fancy or that powerful these days...its my old development machine. I have it on the settings it set it to when I installed...nothing tweaked and the machine isn't OC'd. No lag or nothing....looks awesome irl. If you want me to ping you when I am playing you can have a quick look if you want...it might lose a little quality though obviously. *edit* Just checked and the game automatically put me on phat everything so its maxed out and it runs like a dream. They deserve every award they get for this game...seriously. Edited August 12, 2015 by fever

fever 9,884 #9 Posted August 12, 2015 i7-2600 link? I always think it is essential in good horror/sc-fi games for the surroundings to look just plain weird sometimes to add to the atmosphere...Alien Isolation doesn't disappoint
fever 9,884 #10 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Here is some footage I took from playing the other day...some exploration which leads to a nice fight scene which shows off the game pretty well. Note, the music is pretty rare in the game, so don't base this scene on how the game normally plays...its not a game for just trying to jump scare you. It's way more subtle than that most of the time but really cranks up the tension. Also this footage does contain a minor spoiler regarding an enemy in the game but its pretty obvious in time you might have to fight this particular enemy. I hope you enjoy it...its a bit long but I wanted to give you something of decent length to get your teeth into and to give you a feel for the game. The "Working Joe" doing his warm up routine was pretty weird not to mention me forgetting I was in mumble and cursing xD I'm a noob with YT so make sure you watch on 1080 HD Edited August 20, 2015 by fever
+Skaila 5,462 #11 Posted August 22, 2015 I'm a huge Alien fan, I'll admit to have a Ripley action figure (not a doll dammit!) Have been eyeing the game for a while xD But probably get it when there are sales >>
fever 9,884 #12 Posted August 22, 2015 I'm a huge Alien fan, I'll admit to have a Ripley action figure (not a doll dammit!) Have been eyeing the game for a while xD But probably get it when there are sales >> It's definitely worth full price. It's the only Alien game so far where I actually felt like I was in the film. The only downside is the motion scanner doesn't make the noise when it pings...a small thing though but its one of those sounds from the film you instantly recognise. fever 9,884 #13 Posted October 9, 2015 Thought I'd post a new video now I have a new graphics card...it looks better in real life but it gives you an idea of how stunning the levels are and how tense the game can be...enjoy I recorded it with OBS and was playing around with scenes etc and Twitch which is why my avatar is in the top left.
