Watching stuff like this always makes me play soldier for a little bit. Then I realize I suck at soldier and switch with a defeated feeling.

I dont want to be a negative nancy but edited videos may not be a real representation of a persons average skill level.

He may very well have played 200 hours, recorded all of them, and cherry picked his best moments for that 7 minute video or whatever. Im not saying hes a bad player, just edited movies doesnt prove he is a consistently great player although he may very well be one.

Its like flipping a coin. If heads = you win, and tails = you lose. If I flipped the coin 100 times and get 50 heads and 50 tails. But then I edited the movie to show only times where I get heads, then someone who sees it thinks "wow, that guy got 50/50 heads! and is good/lucky" or whatever, but in reality he could have just cut out his not so great moments.

The idea of shooting them while they are in the air is great IF you have perfect aim. For the rest of us who are just above average but not pro, waiting for them to fall down is a more conservative and more sure fire thing. Because if you miss while shooting them in the air, and you are out of ammo when they fall back down (lets say you are against a pyro) then you are basically screwed.

Of course you have to take this into account. I'm not going to ignore the wonders of video editing and assume these kills are every moment of every day for him.

However, from the way he preformed in this small clips we are given it's clear he's very skilled. Some of the clips are even pretty long shots. You just can't judge his consistency.

I like to think I lead my shots well (all credit to a game I play back in the day that was all about leading shots) I do it all the time on the ground, with some practice I don't see why I couldn't get a shot or two in mid-air. I just wouldn't want to use it in a tourney setting until I was comfortable that I'm not just loosing the rocket.

thats wut i been trying to do lately is hit em in air..... novas is a damn good soldier and ive seen him hit people at feet launching them in air then hit em again. and people say soldier is easiest class and not that great.......PFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

As for this video, it's edited. He had some awesome runs... we've all had those if your main class is soldier. Having none of them be crits is pretty badass, I must admit.
