They can only say 24 due to legal restrictions (The requirements on the box are for 24 players max). I wouldn't be surprised if it actually supported 16vs17.

Yeah these maps are supposed to be pretty small, I'm guessing a little bigger then one stage in goldrush. Seems like its really better for smaller teams. We will find out tomorrow.

There is no deathmatch. It's CP... still with teams. Just no respawning or limit spawning.

Yeah, one cap point in the middle so even if there are afks a team can win.
