James Tyrgglidaar Quall 69 0 #1 Posted December 8, 2008 Hate to keep bugging you guys, I know you are probably busy, but how is the progress on admins? The new voting system is nice, helps with the hackers, but it'd be nice to have some actual people keeping everyone in line.

You should of noticed by now that the server plugins have been changed completely. Once that is setup I'll be approving admin applications for DODS . -=Kevin=- 0 #5 Posted December 13, 2008 To be honest, I think I'll actually miss the democratic anarchy that reigns over the DoD:S server.
James Tyrgglidaar Quall 69 0 #6 Posted December 13, 2008 Haha, do you mean the dozens of votemaps, votekicks, votebans that almost never pass? I love voting!
-=Kevin=- 0 #7 Posted December 15, 2008 Just like real democracy! I just hope who ever gets admin isn't too strict. The reason I play in the Lotus dod:s server is because of the general do anything (within reason) environment. Eg: I'd hate to see some of the high ping players getting kicked just because of there ping. The euro/azn crowd is fun to have around.

Eg: I'd hate to see some of the high ping players getting kicked just because of there ping. The euro/azn crowd is fun to have around. Same here. I'm in a super strict, rated G clan, so it's nice to come here and goof off. It's also great we get to see a lot of people from around the world. There are a few though that have ridiculous ping, and it does ruin gameplay. Also, is there a written set of rules? Those are always nice to have, even if they are just minimal. precurser 0 #9 Posted December 15, 2008 why would you be in a rated g clan for a game that is rated M?
Camail 1 #10 Posted December 15, 2008 Mana has a list of rules, but its in a place only he knows about and in a language only he can understand.
James Tyrgglidaar Quall 69 0 #11 Posted December 16, 2008 why would you be in a rated g clan for a game that is rated M? Well, I followed an old buddy of mine to my current clan after the one used to play on was shut down. Normally I stay away from g-rated servers because I swear profusely while playing DoD, but this clan had a lot of active players and a lot of active admins. Also, I got to be admin
SIMPLE JACK 0 #12 Posted January 12, 2009 We no need no stinking rules. Only rule we need is no hacking (cheating). You Thomas EGO should know better. How many times have people wanted to kick you because your too good and have like 30 kills to 8 deaths. Which is not very good in my view, and I suck. So I would be carefull for what you wish for. You my friend have played on servers with many admins on at a time and they spend most of their time policing the server. That seems to pleasure them more than actually playing the game. LunchBox 10 #16 Posted January 21, 2009 You pestering is not going to make it go any faster. When it's ready, Mana will let everyone know.
James Tyrgglidaar Quall 69 0 #17 Posted January 22, 2009 Not exactly pestering seeing as it's been over a month since we've heard any news. Mana does a good job with hackers but admins always help!
Nket 16 #18 Posted January 27, 2009 I am DoDs admin as well as Mana (he always has been) come crying to us with your hackers and shit and we will take care of it
James Tyrgglidaar Quall 69 0 #19 Posted January 27, 2009 Well cool, I thought he'd have more admins, but if you guys want to be bugged it works for me.
Mana 3,867 #20 Posted January 28, 2009 Well cool, I thought he'd have more admins, but if you guys want to be bugged it works for me. There will be. But apart from the donator/voting plugins. The server's admin interface consists of: lotus_ban <#userid|name> [minutes|0] [reason] andlotus_unban <steamid|name> Which is Global Ban and Global Unban. I updated all the custom plugins recently and they are working very well so far. So we'll see how it goes.
James Tyrgglidaar Quall 69 0 #21 Posted January 28, 2009 Awesome. I'm assuming you are going to add Mute and Kick options? Thanks for tolerating my impatience.
