Hate to keep bugging you guys, I know you are probably busy, but how is the progress on admins? The new voting system is nice, helps with the hackers, but it'd be nice to have some actual people keeping everyone in line.

We're very close. You should of noticed by now that the server plugins have been changed completely. Once that is setup I'll be approving admin applications for DODS .

I just hope who ever gets admin isn't too strict.

The reason I play in the Lotus dod:s server is because of the general do anything (within reason) environment.

Eg: I'd hate to see some of the high ping players getting kicked just because of there ping. The euro/azn crowd is fun to have around.

Same here. I'm in a super strict, rated G clan, so it's nice to come here and goof off. It's also great we get to see a lot of people from around the world. There are a few though that have ridiculous ping, and it does ruin gameplay.

Also, is there a written set of rules? Those are always nice to have, even if they are just minimal.

Mana has a list of rules, but its in a place only he knows about and in a language only he can understand.

Well, I followed an old buddy of mine to my current clan after the one used to play on was shut down. Normally I stay away from g-rated servers because I swear profusely while playing DoD, but this clan had a lot of active players and a lot of active admins. Also, I got to be admin

We no need no stinking rules. Only rule we need is no hacking (cheating). You Thomas EGO should know better. How many times have people wanted to kick you because your too good and have like 30 kills to 8 deaths. Which is not very good in my view, and I suck. So I would be carefull for what you wish for. You my friend have played on servers with many admins on at a time and they spend most of their time policing the server. That seems to pleasure them more than actually playing the game.

Not exactly pestering seeing as it's been over a month since we've heard any news. Mana does a good job with hackers but admins always help!

There will be.

But apart from the donator/voting plugins. The server's admin interface consists of:

lotus_ban <#userid|name> [minutes|0] [reason]

and

lotus_unban <steamid|name>

Which is Global Ban and Global Unban. I updated all the custom plugins recently and they are working very well so far. So we'll see how it goes.
