Dealing with Abuse

Hi, I was playing this game actively 3 years back. I was wondering what has been done in regards to the problem with the many bugs associated with the lotus and serpent clan. I am referring to the abuse of dark canopy, smokebomb and soul chill. Do people just decide not to abuse those bgs now?

I'm actually quite impressed by the topics at this forum. Alot of strategies have been rediscovered by this new generation of BR players . I wonder how this game got revived.

Hello, fellow old player, I wasn't as old as you, but I played a good 2 years back, where this game was alive and running. And yes, unfortunately people still abuse, but we try to overcome them by micro and skill. Still some of the abusers win and become arrogant assholes in the lobby. A lot of people still play this game, and this forum was especially made to revive battlerealms. It is doing very well because it started 3 weeks ago. So hopefully you will stay with us and help us revive BR.

Sounds good. I'm impressed and glad that someone was able to revive BR like this.

Hmm I dont really think theres a way to abuse battle gears.. I mean I can win against almost any army with 25 Master Warlocks and 10 Reapers (Well not 25 much less) whitout any battle gears... some units just dont react as badly to the BG of the enemies. Also It takes ages to kill a single forgot what their called... the ones that Throw black vomit... with two warlocks. I remember having 6 warlocks and 3 of those came to attack me and all of my warlocks were shooting but it was taking of .5 percent of health from them

Though I've never encounted many abusers when I've played, the older generation of BR players established several problems with the game that they considered "abuse." These reasons are why they abandoned the game.

Smokebomb- There is a way to continuously activate smokebomb so that it is spammed upon the enemy army. Doing this can cause the enemy units to stand still completely without the enemy player being able to control them. Smoke bomb also has an effect of lowering enemy armor, which is an unintended effect by the creators. Smokebombs themselves also do damage. So, if you mass cannoneers and keep shoooting smokebombs, eventually, the enemy army dies while standing still.

Soul chill- Soul chill does alot of damage types that it's not supposed to. I don't remember which ones, but the problem is that mass soul chill will kill any army.

Dark Canopy- Setting up like 6 staves with Dark Canopy was very cheap. I'm not going to talk about the many appliations of it, but it is very hard to reach 6 canopies spread around, let alone kill them. The application of the death coil ...or that...flaming skull thing particularly emphasizes this problem.

Bugs

Stardust- Does not always work apparently. Some units can still shoot through it. I don't know if this is true.

Is this why I quit? no. Abuse never bothered me much, most players refrained from it because they don't want to be cheap. Why did I quit? because there were very few enemy players, and starting a game took a very long time.

By the way, is there any private server for BR? That would really help, because gamespy stinks ><.

Another thing I noticed, a Lotus peasant can kill a Serpent Raider. Heh I played online against a person who only made Raiders he had no other houses and over 20 raiders. So when I noticed that I sent all of my peasants from rice and huts to his base along with the few Zen Master to help destroy buildings. It was alot of fun! Owned by the Peasants!!!

But how can you get a dragon raider? Last time I checked, that was a serpent unit.

Umm I've expirienced it does only slash damage - I've tried it against Samurais - they just laughed and went on slaying me...and once I rushed a Lotus player with those blunt guys..you know those kiddys(wolf clan)..dont know their name right now with shale armour..with a tower my opponent could still hold me off and get 2 warlocks with soul chill..when the army was dead i attacked the tower then the two warlocks came *slash* and most of my units were dead..cause I'm a bloody lucker I won the game but only slash or pierce damage could kill them so effectively..

Umm what I use to do against ppl who dont want to get rushed -> mass huts and gettin keep then building towers around the enemies village with tons of huts and then hit and run PEASENT POWER!!! thats hard to do but its fun..and with zen masters its even more fun

Your warlocks lost to samurai? But...they can kill samurai quite quickly...you don't even need soul chill. They even suck stamina when they're hit so you can run back while they walk...

Also, according to my memory, shaled beserkers are only weak to blunt.

Warlocks can't kill Samurais in melee..ive played against AI

Shaled beserkers are most effective against lotus in my opinion.

Didn't read almost anything at top but Lotus is just a clan with much power. People might call it abuse but will that just stop the other person from using so much battle gear making him lose? No. I will abuse the power if I need to win, its just a part of the game. Thats my opinion don't take it personal.

The only thing I consider abuse is smoke.

I mean no matter how many DC you have they can be countered, but the damn smoke, it can't be taken out.

there is a way to beat smoke believe or not, you have to be dragon clan though, you use a zen arrow with archer and then you can see right through smoke, only problem is the arrow only lasts so long and you have to do some micro to control your units

And mass dc is very beatable, there is many ways to counter it

Uh..rundown, I know another way to beat smoke, but thats with lotus. I can beat smoke without lotus abuse.

For those who have a weak lotus or even strong ones, this strategy will work well for you. Bless a couple of leafs with a brother and use their ability, it clears the smoke up right away; I think Kie told me this strategy 6 months ago.

i like to use smoke then follow up with mug

that way they cant see the mug comin towards them

i just started using that today lol
