Sentry 0 #1 Posted August 20, 2006 The file in Ben's sig has been up for a month now and has gotten over 100 downloads a week. Has anyone noticed any increase in players for this game? It might still be early as most complaints about this game on gamesites like IGN are about it's difficulty. So I guess we can expect many of the downloaders to be getting the hang of things on campaign still so they might not be peeking into the lobby very much. Just recently I posted it's link to a small forum I visit and I guess I'm gonna try and get more active in alot more of the other communites I visit then do my best to get more hits on this game. I wanna try and get this thing blown up on the torrent networks. So it's nice to see one of them is prospering. Unfortunately it doesn't include the expansion. The second is barely staying alive, it is over 800mb in size, includes the expansion, but both torrents have the files in .iso format which requires knowledge of other tools like Alchohol 120%, plus neither include a NoCD crack. Overall they're not newb-friendly. I'd like to have the file in Ben's sig cleaned up (as in delete the already existing player profiles in there and correct the AIProfile .ini files) then have it reuploaded. Include an html file in there that directs to this site, named "Battle Realms Hints Guides & Community" or something along those lines just to make sure the person knows that it leads to an active and solid base for the BR fans. If that could get done I'll definately download it and do my best to seed it through the torrent networks. If you check the 1GB file for Warcraft III: Frozen Throne on torrentspy.com you'll find that it currently has over 100 Seeders and over 200 downloaders. Consider that it's most likely been up for months, and with a standard 1MB DSL connection a swarm with that health a downloader would have finished getting the file within 2 days. Considering that not everyone who leeches the file becomes part of the seed swarm by helping with distribution. I'm guessing there's atleast 500 downloads a week. That's where I wanna get to with BR I think BR would have steadily grown and eventually gotten it's place in the mainstream RTS line, but it didn't dish out enough advertisements in the year it competed with other popular lines like Warcraft III and some CivIII expansion that came out just days before BR. I will delete the XP AI (Super AI - all stats are 100). Should I do this? And also, the only name in the profile is BenEducationNotice. I will delete it and make the game setting default.. Currently, the hotkeys are edited by me... But only this thing: I - Call Idle peasants change to Call ALL idle peasants P - Pause changes to Peasant hut L - Look changes to Well. K - for nothing, but I changes it to keep. I did this because it is easier for me.. But I shall change this things again and re-upload a clean copy of Battle Realms and Winter of the Wolf. There are no save games there. I will only leave the XP AI which is Super AI and the default AI. Anything more to fix? What I will do is to Fix it and just upload it. I dont need to delete the current file since many people got that Link already, they might want to download it again. What will happen is NEW LINK RELEASE and old link stay the same. Sentry 0 #4 Posted August 20, 2006 Ah, sorry Ben, I believe it was Kasedo's/Kaseng's Battle Realms w/o expansion download that I mistook yours for If you want you can leave the key configs those are actually better then the normal configs, especially the peasent one since there's already a button for that.
