Spartan_0214 18 #1 Posted June 23, 2009 http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.5rc2&os=win〈=en-US Yeah. Firefox 3.5 RC is already here! Some themes and addons don't work yet, but they will soon. Cookie if you find a way to break it (Mana excluded, I'm sure you can break it somehow).
FunkyFresh 68 #2 Posted June 23, 2009 Well hell, if you want me to /try/ and break it, sure. Won't happen through normal browsing, though.

Spartan_0214 18 #5 Posted June 23, 2009 Chrome is nice, but it just doesn't feel as solid as Firefox.
FunkyFresh 68 #6 Posted June 23, 2009 With Chrome's memory usage the way it is? Neg. I'll stay away for awhile.
Graedus 9 #7 Posted June 24, 2009 I've been pretty happy with Chrome as a general random browser. Firefox is still king if you want to get stuff done. *counts the days until IE6 is banished*
Oww My Nose 19 #8 Posted June 24, 2009 IE6 should have been banished a long time ago, even microsoft admits it's a shitty browser
Spartan_0214 18 #9 Posted June 24, 2009 With IE8 out now and IE7 being the default installed browser when you get a new comp, IE6 is pretty much toast.

For example, I recently worked on a project for Marriott at work and all their computers use IE6. It's gonna be a while.
Mana 3,867 #11 Posted June 24, 2009 It's funny how the European Union wanted money so they forced MS to not include IE8 automatically with Windows in Europe. In fact with Windows 7 in the US or anywhere else you can uninstall IE from the Windows Features panel. Poor poor MS. Instead of making their browser better (anyone remember the good old days when IE automatically installed viruses and spyware?) when it was REALLY popular they decided to be lazy and see if they get away with a shitty browser and now... well now they're not just losing the battle, but the war itself. Oww My Nose 19 #12 Posted June 24, 2009 Not in the corporate world. For example, I recently worked on a project for Marriott at work and all their computers use IE6. It's gonna be a while. ya that's shit, but it's just because IE6 doesn't have tabs, so you can't hide what you're browsing (or so i was told when i asked why i had to use IE6) It's funny how the European Union wanted money so they forced MS to not include IE8 automatically with Windows in Europe. In fact with Windows 7 in the US or anywhere else you can uninstall IE from the Windows Features panel. i wonder how people who do a fresh install of windows 7 in the EU are going to get on the internet... You suck and have no life 203 #13 Posted June 24, 2009 The only thing I hate about Firefox is that it takes 5 seconds to open and Chrome opens in less than half a second.
Spartan_0214 18 #14 Posted June 24, 2009 Then either you need to get a better comp or uninstall some bloated addons, buddy. Firefox boots up instantly for me.
Mana 3,867 #15 Posted June 24, 2009 i wonder how people who do a fresh install of windows 7 in the EU are going to get on the internet... Well.. that's easy. Whoever has the most money can buy their way in with OEM's. Apple, Mozilla Foundation, Opera? Or maybe all of those... depending on the money and the regulations. Then either you need to get a better comp or uninstall some bloated addons, buddy. Firefox boots up instantly for me. Hah for me with SSDs almost everything starts up instantly. Oww My Nose 19 #19 Posted June 25, 2009 SSDs FTL. HRDs FTW (new tech not available to the public yet, but read the article for more info here)
You suck and have no life 203 #20 Posted June 25, 2009 SSDs FTL. HRDs FTW (new tech not available to the public yet, but read the article for more info here) So basically, a futuristic technology not yet implemented kicks the current technology's ass. Wow profound.

Spartan_0214 18 #22 Posted June 25, 2009 (edited) Meh. I still think SSDs are better than HRD. Edited June 25, 2009 by Spartan_0214

Fuck I was too lazy to read all of that so about your first part of the comment. Microsoft is called M$ for a reason.
FunkyFresh 68 #24 Posted June 29, 2009 Managed to break 3.5 through normal browsing. Went on a streaming video page and hit refresh after it was done (one of those no-controls streams) only to get a crash report page. Can duplicate it over and over if necessary.
