If you play for a short period, you wont rank high simply because you haven't reached your equilibrium skill level even if you perform amazing. Miyari 33 #52 Posted July 27, 2009 I'm extremely out of practice with Heavy Weapons Guys. :/ My primary pockets (and most of those in Team Miyari) have almost always been soldiers and demomen (more recently, demomen and snipers? hurr) so I wasn't one of those kids raised on hiding behind the Heavy and being a little pocket bitch. Pocketing a ranged projectile class is a whole different ball game, especially in the fields of self-preservation. It's far easier to hide behind the heavy and have him mow down whatever is coming near you than it is to dodge/survive while you wait for your soldier to hit whatever is shooting at you. Demo is a bit worse, since the majority of demos can't shoot pipes to save their lives (or their medic's for that matter). A lot of my medic training came with a guy who played primarily Heavy and Pyro, so I do have a fair bit of practice with the range of the heavy's sniper rifle on my side, and close-range pyro antics with the same person, so it's easier to handle everything in-between now, lol. It's kind of a walk in the park to babysit a heavy in comparison to a demoman, which is what I have become used to, so watching over Funky's butt this weekend was pretty easy. Miyari 33 #55 Posted July 28, 2009 Someone pointed out that there were actually no EVGA prizes to be awarded, and admins were saying they were going to be giving out random shit for other reasons (besides the main prizes) such as top in class and stuff.
