But if you want a flimsy shitty sound quality headset, can't help ya Had the Sennheiser HD-280s for a year. The sound is great but 3 problems. 1. Its tight as fuck and your ears feel like being compressed into squishy. 2. The closed ear makes your ears hot as fuck. 3. The closed ear makes you feel like you are in an airplane. You end up screaming twice as loud because you cant hear yourself. these are much better and you can find them at around 150$ if you are smart enough. look at the ratings http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106390&Tpk=sennheiser%20hd-595 http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD595-HD-595-Premier-Headphone/dp/B0001FTVE0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1262012472&sr=8-1 The problem when you ask the general public for advice is that, well most of them are retarded. Their suggestion is about as clueless as yours.

Unless you are a serious audiophile, a 450 dollar headset might be overkill for TF2.

But shiiiiiit. HEARING THE SPY FOOTSTEPS MILES AWAY? BRING IIIIT Edit: Did I mention the bass on his footsteps? Oh lawdy.

BRING IIIIT Edit: Did I mention the bass on his footsteps? Oh lawdy. Sound affects game play kdr very little. I could turn off sound, and I still maintain a 3:1 kdr easily. You probably use the Bass for porn. Listening to the nutsack make the clap clap sound.
Graedus 9 #12 Posted January 3, 2010 What kind of sound leaking do the 280 and 595 have from your experience? Can't really find anything like that in the 280 reviews but the 595 mention it here and there. The 280 tightness issue is a general constant. Is that a problem because of giant head sizes or are they just designed to be tight regardless?

Can't really find anything like that in the 280 reviews but the 595 mention it here and there. The 280 tightness issue is a general constant. Is that a problem because of giant head sizes or are they just designed to be tight regardless? Well the 280 is closed ear so its air tight... so of course sounds leaks less from both directions. How is there any correlation between headphone size and stiffness? One can make a large headphone out of rubber, or out of aluminum. I don't see the correlation here. The fact is the 280 is tighter and the 595 is not. I don't have the material specs so nobody is going to know the modulus or stiffness of the headband. On top of that, the 595 has additional swivel. Not everyones ears are perfectly parallel to the side of their heads. If your ears are slightly to the front or back of the head, the earphones cups needs to make a slight /\ or \/ shape, which the 595 does. Most people wear this to play games. You probably arent going to carry a big ass headphones with 10 feet long cord to public anyways. That means you will be in the comfort of your own home. Its not like there are constant noises in your own home that you really need to block out. Why would you need your headphones to be super hot and sound proof? Don't you think if there is a loud sound in your house, you probably would actually want to know what happened? Also, not hearing your own voice when you talk to the mic really fucks with your head. I was just curious about the 280 being tight because people have fat heads or if they're designed to be tight regardless. I asked about the sound leakage because I was wondering if they could double for long and loud travel use (train, plane, etc.) as silly as they might look but I don't care about that. Thanks for the general info though. Too bad there's not really any option to test a pair of headphones before purchase.
