Any New Interesting Songs? Am Sure You Guys Listen To Music While You Play

Recommended Posts

Why would you ever listen to music while you are playing a team oriented online game? Not only are you limiting yourself to one of your five senses, but you are also being a dick to your teammates because you aren't communicating.

Oh dear god, clearly he has his music up 100% and can't hear any game volume at all.

I can once say i agreed with You suck, i listen to music when i play at times, but if anyone out there has done a scrim on cs_office, you can hear the glass break a mile away. Same with the dead ringer uncloak, loud as shit.

Lot of sounds in the game are subtle. For example, a spy decloaking around the corner.

Not saying I disagree with that at all, but on a full 32 player server there's usually so much going on it doesn't make a huge difference.

As said before, I personally like to hear game sounds and communicate. I'll save the music for videos.

I would say if you can play without sound, it's gonna make you a much better player. And here's for why..Playing without sound means that every fight you get into, you're gonna have to rely on aim. If you train your aim and twitch aim, when you turn that sound back on, you're gonna have a serious advantage. Because not only are you now on the same level as the person you're fighting, you have twice the aim skill that he has. This equals win.

In fact, I often play without (well.. half and half) game sound for that very reason. In tf2 and quake at least. CS is a bit different, i think you have to rely on the sound cues more in that game, but if you really don't give a fuck, then stick some tunes on, you'll be surprised at how very little it will affect your play. U can still hear mics and communicate if you get the balance right. It's all about balance :P

Obviously at the end of the day it is up to the individual, but i find music drives me more, it takes my mind off the seriousness of the game, it gets rid of the repetitive drone of the vanilla Tf2 tones, making me less bored, and more enthusiastic towards winning. Plus there really is no feeling like hitting (and killing) someone to the beat of a tune =]

You can usually catch me belting out some QOTSA or NIN, that shit gets me fired up and angry. Pendulum is a good option (especially slam and seatbelt), if you like that, try and find "drum and bass arena - andy c", theres some epic stuff on there =]

>implying that there's actual teamwork on a 32man pub server where the teams arent totally stacked.

lets be honest, the majority of teams accomplish their tasks out of just having better players aiming for personal bests.

The reason I started playing spy in the first place was because of lack of teamwork in a team based game.

so you're basically saying that by turning off sound you're going to have better aim, so no more aiming with our ears, oh no! you still have to aim, sound or no sound, and suggesting that by turning off sound in a game like tf2, you will play better. No, you will just do worse, and get backstabbed by a lot more people, and probably end up dead when you don't hear about that sentry around the corner

I don't know about you, but I love being a dick in online games. I also love listening to music while I watch my teammates die to an obvious spy, because those fags deserved it.

Being a dick in online games is the best thing there is. One thing I noticed. I typical yell at newbs when they do something stupid. However while I am yelling, I am still giving them advice. I noticed, the fact that I yell at them, their ego defense mechanism goes up. Instead of actually listening on how to not suck they typically default to 2 things.

1. Deny it, and overestimate their skills. Ignore all contradictory stats evidence and ignore all advice.

2. Make up an excuse that they suck since they have a life.

Either you learn by example or learn by mistake. Or sometimes they just don't learn.

First no I never turn my sound off completely, and yes for some people playing with some good music helps you frag better with demo and solider and sucks to you if your not one of us. :D
