Problem With Sound And Crashes

Since the last time I've installed BR on my computer, I had no sound at all.

My master sound is Maxed, all of them are maxed, speakers are activated, and everything's fine.. Except I still have no sound at all.

This problem is really irritating, because I do want to enjoy the dialogs between stages in Singeplayer and Music in Skirmishes and Multi'es.

I have absolutely no idea what is this problem caused by, any other games work properly...

The second problem I have is in the Kenji's Journy.

Right after the first part when you have to choose either Serpent or Dragon, after the Cutscene ( When you need to choose Otomo's or Shinja's province to attack first) After I click my decision, the game freezes and I'm unable to either Alt - Tab/ Alt F4/Ctrl alt delete/Esc.

The only solution left is a restart. It is really frustrating, not being able to play the campaign.

I really hope some of you know atleast one of the solutions to either of these problems, the second one is more important.

If that matters, I have an Original BR CD with Battle Pack 3 installed.

i had that problem 3 years ago everything was active in sounds etc... i find out that windows update made a extra update for my sound card which my card can't take or it was know as unknow driver so i just did a rollback update to my previus version ( or older version of sound card),BTW after u do this make sure what update # is the sounds update from windows

I have same problem. I don't have sound in BR. One mounth before I have sound and everything was good. I dont do anything and now i don't have sound. I dont change soundcard driver and anything else. When I click "quit" in BR then make black screen and I must reebot my computer. When I ctrl+alt+del and closed aplication in windows, theres fine. What's the problem with my sound?? In other games everything is allright and in Windows its good too. I reinstall BR, reinstall sound drivers, reinstall movie codecs, etc. I try all and I still don't have sound. I must play without sound and my efectivness is little smaller... Is anybody who can help me??

First, try looking in the options of the game. Look for the part for the sound and music. If the master sound is off or muted, then raise it or uncheck the mute button. If there is still no sound, check to see if BR is compatible with the sound card (sometimes, if a game is incompatible with a sound card, it wont have sound or have very loud buzzing/white noise. Usually, Windows will not have any issues, and other games have different compatibilities.) If the sound card is found to be incompatible, go out and buy a new one. No matter how much a sound card is updated, if the card itself is incompatible it will not work with the game in mind.

Judging by that info, the sound card itself may possibly be outdated...update drivers if possible. Another issue may be that certain files in the game folder relating to sound and command executions may have some slight problems (I.E. if the main sound file is corrupted in some form, you may also not get sound. If certain files that control how the game quits gets fragmented or corrupted, the game may "hang" on a black screen which also causes Windows to "hang" and freeze.). If the file corruption is the issue, try reinstalling it again but make sure no other programs are running during the installation since those programs may cause issues during file copying and transfer (I.E. cause parts of the files to break off and either go elsewhere or vanish completely, making the file corrupt).

Also as a support thing, run Disk Defragmator to repair possible file fragmentation that could cause this issue and to also make the computer run better.

Problem may also depend on the OS you are using.

One month ago in BR was sound. I don't change any drivers or game folder. I reinstalled the game and BR have no sound further. My sound card is compatible and in game options everything is good. I install other version of BR-BenEducationNotice game setings, and there is the same problem-theres no sound. Thanks for your advise. I check all of this before I posted here, so maybe somebody else know, how can I repair it.
