NeoDaReaper 3 #1 Posted February 15, 2012 And why does it have replays enabled?
Kerberos 3,170 #2 Posted February 15, 2012 If you're on windows, open task manager ( CTRL+Alt+Del), go to Processes and end all the processes such as Nero, Google chrome/internet/opera etc etc, MSN, Skype, Utorrent, and so on. All the programmes that aren't system programmes, end. Then check your location to the server location. Still laggy? That's how I solved my lagg on Lotus servers. Kerberos 3,170 #4 Posted February 15, 2012 I don't use any of those programs. It's not me, it's the server. I did say any other programme that isn't needed by the system. You'll find that even background programmes can use a ton of your PC usage. I don't see how the server would lagg... just you...

I don't see how the server would lagg... just you... Any other regular will tell you the server is terribly laggy. Pr0 tip : quit downloading porn when you want to play online games. I find I play TF2 best with a mouse in one hand and my jimmies in the other. That's not the latency issue, however.
Barbaro 466 #6 Posted February 15, 2012 Try pinging the server. I forget how to do that, use Google. I connected to it today with no problems. Except the occasional faggot SCOOT that kills himself.
Nano 7,892 #7 Posted February 15, 2012 What is your ping when you connect? (Just press Tab, it's next to the score on the board)
IceSage 58 #8 Posted February 15, 2012 It doesn't lag. It's just that all the Lotus servers are slightly off in almost everything for some reason. On almost any other server, I can headshot perfectly fine if I play sniper. But on Lotus, I'll be aiming at someone, holding still, at their head, and the shot will completely miss. The server doesn't lag, it's just... slightly off. All lotus servers are like this, not just Arena. I'm also glad that Replay is enabled on Arena. I can vouch for this, normally i can snipe just fine on East Coast, and even better on Chicago (better latency) but there seems to be something off with hit registry. NeoDaReaper 3 #11 Posted February 15, 2012 What is your ping when you connect?  (Just press Tab, it's next to the score on the board) I have 20-30 ping on the server.
Kerberos 3,170 #12 Posted February 15, 2012 ... That's your definition of high? :|
Nano 7,892 #13 Posted February 15, 2012 All that tells us is that the cause of lag isn't a network issue between his computer and the server. It's just something they'll want to rule out if they choose to troubleshoot the issue.

Kerberos 3,170 #16 Posted February 15, 2012 Again, it's not me, it's the server. Ping 20/30 is decent, imo. There's 2 types of lagg. FPS, network/internet. (Thanks, Gotcha!) Your ping is 20/30's, and it's only you as proven by other participants on this thread. Therefore, it's FPS. (Frames Per Second). That means, shut down all other programmes on your PC like I already said. "A good craft man never blames his tools"

What rates are you using? cl_cmdrate cl_updaterate rate We only use light rate enforcement, this is so people with crappier connections can play too. But if you are using default rates and have a good connection you will likely have issues. All of our servers are able to maintain the max fps of 66 so there is absolutely no reason for a delay to be happening unless your ping is bad. Now in regards to lag on the Arena server. Yesterday I noticed that Stock Maps #2 (same box) was lagging as well. Turns out the box was under attack. The attack has since been mitigated, some extra filtering added and now everything should be returning to normal.
Barbaro 466 #18 Posted February 15, 2012 Why would they attack the box? That just ain't right!!!

Whenever I play on stock 4 there is a delay between my actions and what happens on screen as others described in the above posts. My ping is around 40-50. My computer is i7 960, gtx 570, 12gb of ram, win 7 64bit and also I am playing from Ohio. I am using the default rates, what should I use?
Barbaro 466 #20 Posted February 27, 2012 I don't see the ping being any effect on gameplay. I'm glad Replay is enabled, otherwise I couldn't ever hope to achieve a SAXXEH.
