I know people have their own views about the world, religion, politics, what the hell ever. Why do people need to come onto lotus servers and talk about this stuff? All it does is piss people off, and asking politely to stop does close to nothing. I don't really care what people reply to this but I'm getting pretty annoyed. People need to keep this shit to themselves. No one ever wins these conversations, just makes people want to stab you in the throat!

The guy I'm referring too was spamming chat on 2fort today. Not enough people voted to kick him. I don't think lotus servers, or tf2 in general, is a place to debate and piss and moan about the world.

well. the world is big. nomatter where you go. theres always going to be people (mostly kids) who act like that way. Simply request a ban for it, if it's to big of a matter.. if nothing done regarding it, your just out of luck then.

EDIT : just pointing out, idk Lotus server rules, so don't blame me for that suggestion o.o

Press escape to get to the main menu from game. On top of the "Browse Servers" button is a little ear with an X over it button. Click it. Mute the players you don't want to hear. Problem solved.

Lotus Clan is much too big in my opinon to crack down on these kinds of Trolls, plus, you can't really get rid of them permantly, they'll find ways to get you...even if it involves crashing the server they're on. I think the OP had a nerve hit and should be talking less with his brain and more with his GamePlay and enjoying TF2, not the imbeciles that plague the entire community. *It's a bigger issue than just Lotus...*

This issue still remains quite simple. If someone spams or acting like a troll, just grab a demo. They'll be dealt with later. It's called karma... or in some cases ProLoser.

The problem is there, you can't really votekick them because almost everyone says that they have freedom of speech, no matter what. Which sounds really stupid, if someone comes to the server ranting about others' beliefs and faiths and try to provoke them to come into a fight with them, in my head that sounds so wrong.

Sometimes there's admins on the server and they do nothing.

Wish you could personally chat mute someone like you can mic mute.

personally. i'd say the "freedom to speech" is bullshit in someways. people usually twist it into something else and uses it as an excuse, mostly based on they don't have anything to do and generally just want to be a bother. Personally, i'd say the admins should be allowed to punish those kind of people, either kick / temp ban / well eh. as most would just continue being a bother and annoy people even more. Something has to be done, atleast thats my opinion..

Freedom of speech isn't bullshit and can't be "twisted into something else" to "use it as an excuse." It is what it is. Sometimes you like it, sometimes you don't, but it always works both ways even when it's used to annoy you. When I got tired of seeing stretched out vaginas and goatse style sprays all over lotus servers, I disabled sprays. If you don't want to hear someone, ignore/mute them. If enough others agree with you, votemute them. Then move on with your life. Fighting against people's right to be unpleasant to you is a losing battle, and any victory is short-lived before you run into another person you don't like. Might as well get over it.
