I'm accusing this player of cheating because he/she was:

  • Healing through walls
  • Starting a new heal through a wall
  • Healing people that weren't in the line of sight
  • Killing people that weren't in the line of sight (about the time when he/she pulls out the ubersaw)
  • Going from low health to full health instantly without using health kits

Jump to tick 132,000 to see where the fun begins.

I'll take a look, but almost all of the things you mention are impossible client side.

We'll see if I'm eating my words in a few minutes...

Well I'll be damned. That's a first. At first I was just thinking it was a spectator glitch and that he was running around but it wasn't looking like that to you, but then he healed the heavy going by which he couldn't have done if he was elsewhere on the map. I'm temp banning until some other admins/staff can take a look.

EDIT: Perma banned for exploit (until someone can convince me it was something else).

Edited for the time-being. Didn't realize the demo was 50 minutes long...

Yeah, I've never seen this before either.

I record all of my games, just so that I have proof of cheating if I happen to catch it. I noted above what tick to start at to see the evidence.

For future reference, if you catch a cheater, just start a new demo and record. That way the file is much smaller and doesnt take long to load.

Not that Im an admin at the moment, but I'm going to advise a permanent ban on this sort of exploit.

I'll drop my two cents off here.

Sorry if I wasn't more precise with the tick mark before. A more accurate tick to start at would be 132,000.

My tf2 crashes trying to go to ticks of more than 50000 (on any demo), for anyone else with the same issue just speed it up to 600%.

I will so have to watch this. Medic cheats...

Btw, ProLoser, thnx for the tip. I do have the same problems with the crashes... didn't know you could speed it up to 600%, though.

Yup, press Shift+F2 at either the title screen or in the demo to bring up the demo player GUI. Then just adjust the slider in the upper right all the way over.

Yeah, knew about Shift+F2, but i never thought about speeding up the demo that much. xD

TF2 used to crash for me too, but I just changed "mat_queue_mode" to "0". Now it doesn't crash. :)

That aside, demo doesn't load for me. Am i the only one? All i get is a black screen until tick 30000 (i stopped then)

This doesn't look like cheating to me because he was taking damage while you show him not moving. Lag? Client synch issues? Not sure but him taking damage while "not moving" makes me believe this wasn't cheating but one of the two things I just mentioned. The latter portion of the demo has him moving around, healing within LOS and nothing strange or out of the ordinary.

If I recall, he even killed a person while not moving and as far as I know, you can't manipulate the TF2 environment in that melee weapons extend beyond their natural range.

Actually you can. Hell you can even get a hack that makes your bullets 3 feet wide. Though those hacks get vacced extremely fast youd be amazed what people can do. Hell we had a guy last night in chivarly hack it so no one could see him. Was invisible just slaughtering players.

Right but as you said, VAC servers will see those changes as they're typically changes in files. Simple memory hacks will not affect that at all.

That wont stop them from using it until vac bans them though. And vac bans take anywhere from a week to a month to be put into effect.

That kind of goes against what you said, "hacks get vacced extremely fast..." But regardless...

Why wouldn't he have stayed in a safe spot and not move? How did he take damage when the spectate mode show him not moving? Then later on he was moving around, healing within the acceptable range, and not getting to 100% health instantly after taking damage.

Aye he'll get detected by vac really fast. Doesnt mean banned, steam intentionally delays bans so they can fix the exploit before they ban making it harder to fix it.

ProLoser, lock this topc now, maybe?

The ban is in place, already, and a general discussion about VAC bans is not part of this part of the forum, no?
