- Mike - 2,728 #1 Posted February 12, 2013 Every time for the past couple days when I open a steam game it gives me this error. It's not much of a problem, just an annoyance so far. I went through the options and unticked the 'sync to steam cloud' and it opened fine, so while TF2 was open I went and re-ticked it so it would. I then closed TF2 and saw that it took a couple seconds to sync. I then figured it fixed itself, but still, it gave me the same error again. Any idears? Mana 3,867 #2 Posted February 12, 2013 Tuesday is the only day when you can re-reliably predict Steam downtime. Because valve does not believe in redundancy/contingency, they take parts of steam down on Tuesday to do official maintenance (this includes TF2 items, the entire steam community, matchmaking and Steam Cloud sync). This is not to be confused with the seemingly daily "other" maintenance that knocks steam or it's functions offline.
