Climhazzard 654 #1 Posted March 4, 2013 (edited) Hey guys! I was getting pretty bored with the tf2 hitsound so a friend and I decided to make a new one! We used a program called Audacity to record and export sounds. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Here is a .dem if anyone wants to hear/see what we did. It may sound like it was done by a 10 year old, but it's the only ding-a-ling like it we could find, so we made it. Here is a youtube video, with the sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt-d1VNeerw Pretty messed up, huh? Anyway, here is a step-by-step on how to change your hitsound. 1. Make sure you have a sound on your pc to use OR use Audacity to make a new one with a microphone. Audacity is pretty straightforward, so anyone with basic comprehension skills can figure it out 2. Save the file as hitsound, and make sure it's in .wav (hitsound.wav) 3. Find your tf2 folder. Here is my folder path. C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Steam\steamapps\(username)\team fortress 2\tf 4. In the tf folder, there should be a folder named sound, open it up and find a folder named ui. Drop the .wav file you made into ui. 5. Start TF2 and test it out! 6. AWW YEAA MAN! CUSTOM DINGDONG! 7. To change the pitch depending on damage, such as in my demo, head into the console and type tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg (your number), no parenthesis. Mine is set at 50, meaning the higher the damage, like when I crit, the lower the pitch. Do the same thing for lower damages, tf_dingaling_pitchmindmg (your number). This will give a range of pitches, depending on how much damage is done. If anyone has any questions, just ask Have fun!
