Unban Request/a Concern

Recommended Posts

STEAM_0:0:7748229

So basically, this morning I was testing stream settings with OBS, and once I get it working such that it wouldn't murder my ping in-game, I decided to play a little bit.

Things are going as normal, lightning bolting people and such, when at some point I get asked by Reinback (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198020525488/) to "stop using that glitch". I have no idea what the hell he's on about, so I even ask him. A minute later I'm banned for supposedly exploiting, which I find hilarious, mostly because I killed him prior to the inquiry about the supposed glitch. To be honest, he was probably doing me a favor, good god.

I figure it's probably a 45 minute ban or something, but it seemed like he was abusing his $5 admin privileges, due to his overall incompetence (kicking people for stupid, baseless reasons). In which case, it's more that I'm pointing out that he definitely isn't qualified to be an admin.

Here's the Hightower demo: http://www.mediafire.com/?tfhu3hucb660n1g (A good portion of the first half is just testing OBS settings and how my ping was affected when there was more activity on the screen outside of the spawn room)

And here's the stream VOD: http://www.twitch.tv/ragorism/b/386060959 (Enjoy the Cloudkicker, by the way)

Around 17:50 in the VOD is where I kill him, and he asks me to "not use the glitch", followed by a ban. If I had my mic on, you'd have heard me laughing my ass off.

I checked the ban log and I don't see any listed ban. So whatever the ban was, must have expired by now. Or must have been a voteban?

wasn't a voteban...(you can see in the recording there was no vote) was a strait admin ban by the admin of that server... I guess just temporary, but I still can't figure out why it was placed.

Just watched it as well, was an admin ban. Could be the high five thing? >>

Ah well, either way it was a temp thing not permanent :)

Regarding the High-Five, it seems to be a bug in the current patch, or only seems to happen on that particular Hightower server. At 17:30 in the VOD I use the regular sword taunt to try to get a taunt-kill, then halfway through it switches to the High-Five for whatever reason (as for it functionally working as the high-five or taunt-kill though, I'm not sure).

And yeah, like I said, I figured it was a temp ban. In which case, my point stands that Reinback isn't qualified to be an admin.

Yes, this high five glitch is pretty common now. I've seen people doing it, while others can't, or vice versa. The only thing to do in this situation is for the "glitcher", or the viewer, to restart their tf2.

The $5 isn't for admin privileges, it's for donator privileges, totally different. However, donators still only START votes, not immediately initiate kicks/bans. Barbaro/reinback is an actual admin, although he shouldn't have immediately temp-banned you

Fair enough. Although what do you define as the high five glitch?

Because for the one I'm referring to, it seems like an animation bug, in that it interrupts the current taunt animation and replaces it with the high five animation (which only lasts for as long as the taunt you were doing). Unless you're referring to being able to use the high five taunt to look around corners indefinitely, which at worst could be considered 'lame' and hardly a glitch (as it's functionally intended to be able to do that).

There used to be/is an exploit where people can/would continuously be in the high-five stance. This bugged out hit boxes and also hid all weapons on the user, kinda like the civilian exploit. Making it most difficult for a sniper to land a successful headshot, due to not knowing if enemy was crouched or not. I'm sure Barbaro thought that's what was happening.

It's probably because you hi5'd at the end of the previous round which can glitch you out to being constantly in taunt mode to other players.

Whoever banned ya has some 'splainin to do.

Oh, that. I haven't even entertained the possibility of that, because I died as the previous round ended. Usually that animation glitch/exploit is triggered if the high-five taunt is being held down between rounds, without a taunt recipient. I'll check the demo in thirdperson and see, once TF2 finishes validating.

True, but I died as I was doing it, and nobody mentioned I was stuck i was in the animation (if I was, I'll check the demo).

Regardless, this all comes down to the incompetence displayed by the admin, immediately banning me without any explanation whatsoever.

EDIT: According to the demo, I was stuck in the high-five animation. Nobody said shit about it however, so of course I wasn't aware of that.

It seems to only show for a few people. Rarely has a group of people all seen it at once.

I asked a guy on a server the other day to please stop doing the glitch. As the only one on the server that saw him doing it, I reloaded my tf2 and the glitch stopped.

There seems to be quite a few bugs as of late. I was on 2fort the other day and the announcer said we drove the bomb carrier back.

Eh hey Ragor, how's it going?

I'm going to ignore all the comments that have been posted here with you's and Pro's exception. (Frankly because they're stupid and unneeded...and some seem to be ready to throw me under the bus. Faggots.)

Nice video by the way, awesome music too. So here's what happened, I can't tell if you had joined the server before, or after this.

There were three users using a glitch, or as I labeled, an exploit (Because they knowningly made it happen to get an unfair advantage over enemines) involving the High-Five Taunt. Way earlier, I asked people several times to stop doing it, and kicked one, second one got votekicked, third one his game crashed before I could give him the old boot up the ass.

Things went fine until you and Weebz started doing it. Now, given the score ranking and how I had earlier bitching and moaning about you from other players for being 'AFK/Idle', I figured you had been warned already. Weebz knew yet he continued, so I took you to be on the same boat see, and sunk you both for a 10 minute ban. (Thinking about it, I should have done 5 or even 3 minutes, not sure why I choose 10, but I felt it was plenty of time to get your shit together and fix whatever you needed to fix.)

I don't have a screen for you because I was close to kicking you both for continuing to use the 'glitch'. Then this happened after your frag.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=136490362

That's it, fuck you too then.

Honestly, there's nothing else I can say, if it was unintentional, or an accident, then I apologize for it, which is why I made it only temporary, because these things are easily remedied, where a bot or some hacking tool requires lengthy removal.

Now, onto your original reply. I got some few words for ya.

If you don't like Lotus' and I quote from your video, "Shitty pub server" then don't be here. But don't be a burden to your team and waste time in the spawn room while others are trying to legiatemtly vote kick you. I told my team to knock it off in team-chat when I saw some BLU's trying to vote kick you. They said AFK and I didn't believe them because I already checked spec. *Somehow I missed that dragon loser, he was moving for sometime then stopped.*

I don't pay for my adminiship, I had to go through a meat grinder to get where I am, like every reputable community needs to do to it's admins. If you're going to call me out on incomptency, you's better have some evidence to back it up. My kicks/bans were fully supported by the server, no one missed you. (Especially your team-mates)

So now I ask, is this an Unban Request for a ban that doesn't even exist anymore, or is this a complaint?

Again, 10 minute temporary ban for use of the High-Five Taunt exploit. Reason it was given was I felt you had received my earlier warning and saw the last two idiots who did it get removed. You and Weebz seemed to think that ignoring it is funny, well, let's see how funny it is when you get put in the time out corner. Clearly, that wasn't the case and you weren't present for the first round of ass kicking. Again, I apologize for that.

"Take your lumps like a man, Private Twinkletoes."

I have reviewed and confirmed the information. Barbaro acted in accordance with our expectations and was not being abusive, nor did he do anything wrong.
