I was playing on my usual New Jersey Hightower server like I have been for the past half of a year (fun for sniperman and airshots). I became a regular and the players on the server always kicked people who were being really annoying with spamming of minis and such. I got into the swing of things because the votes were player based, the server was normally run by the players that liked the server a lot. After 2 weeks of no TF2, I was not aware of some server changes and I did the normal routine of going along with votekicks for players who were being disruptive to the server. I got the message "cannot target that player" multiple times before giving up. Then I went afk to make a phone call and I had the ban message "ban vote abuse apply at...". I want to apologize because I wasn't aware of the new rules due to my absence. I'm sorry for abusing the ban system if it can be called abuse.

I looked up your Steam ID and the ban was placed by Gotcha. You got the message "cannot target that player" because you were trying to kick an admin, who is this case was probably Gotcha.

Probably rightly due to the fact you were kicking someone for spamming mini sentries. That is hardly a kick offense. The fact you regularly do that means you had this coming. A staff will probably be on soon to warn you about donor abuse. I do not actually know that that is the reason you are banned but ban abuse normally means donor abuse.

There were no new rules made. Vote abuse has never been allowed on our servers.

Kicking people for using minisentries or for capturing the point is vote abuse. Both of these are part of the game, and they will remain active on Lotus. If you don't like it, host your own server.

 

The behavior of most players on Hightower NJ is unacceptable, hence I checked it out and banned 5 people that tried kicking me for using minisentries. As you said yourself, the problem is that these people assume because they haven't been punished for their actions, they can just do whatever the hell they want and kick everyone that doesn't agree. And Lotus surely won't let a bunch of raging griefers have free reign.

 

I can only repeat myself, if you want a non-minisentry no-cap server, host one yourself. This one will stay unmodded & vanilla Lotus and anyone who thinks he can create anarchy on it will be punished.

 

For coming straight forward and showing regret, I'll lift your ban. Just make sure I won't have to hear of this again.
