Barbaro 466 #1 Posted January 25, 2014 Hey, just had a thought...recently, I've been trying to get some friends of mine, to come and play with me while I'm fragging. Yet there's a lot of people who don't want to come back to TF2 because it 'changed'. I can see why, it is not the same game as it was back in 2009. Problem is, I'm not sure what to do TO get them to come back. They've been asking since they've seen me play quite a bit, and I post screenshots religiously. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=219755612 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=219738420 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=219738180 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=216986775 Anywho, I was wondering, does this game REALLY need anymore weapons? Because that's what seems to be the downer for some people. That and all the changes they really don't seem to like, when in reality, over half of the updates are purely cosmetic and adding new content, instead of changing the old. (With the occasional big or small 'balancing.) Thoughts?

luop90 4,400 #3 Posted February 7, 2014 Just had a realization, what ever happened to the Dr. Grodbort's Weapons for Scoot and Meem? No idea. I just wish the current ones would be balanced. The cowmanger is too easily spammed and the phlog is stupid... Giving someone guaranteed crits for only a 10% damage penelty... Stupid if you ask me. Almost as bad as the back burner... Harlequin 2,975 #5 Posted February 11, 2014 I'd lovingly give the DR away if all the new weapons were gone. vanilla <3

Mr 8bit&3/4 115 #7 Posted February 11, 2014 Personally I wish there were a ton more items, just so things could be mixed up a bit, without seeing the same loadouts all over the place. All in all, I just wish the pyro combo was nerfed, it so ridiculous it isn't funny. It really isnt that hard to overburn someone and then hit them once. Also, I really wish Engs were more interesting. Sentries are seriously dull. They should have like a mecha suit or something, or cyborg type items like the gunslinger without the stupid minisentry. Something that will allow engs to be more combat oriented than have tons of them sitting at the last point. As star_ says, sentries just waste time, eventually they will be destroyed, they are more annoying than fun. >.<

Basically, you're complaining that you can't play a defense oriented class as offensive class. Dude. Wrong game. This isn't CoD.
Mr 8bit&3/4 115 #9 Posted February 11, 2014 (edited) Yeah, you are right, and I do believe demo and heavy are under defense. Are you telling me they are not incredibly offensive classes? Oh and dude, I have never played CoD, so I don't associate a damn thing with that reference okay? You however missed the main point. It is more about Engs having mobility than being stuck in one place almost afraid to move anywhere. Take control points, instead of moving to the middle point etc, they will stay back at last, almost as if they have given in and are just waiting for the other team to reach the last point. At least the gunslinger added some kind of mobility. I am talking more of a mini class thing, like demo has demoknight etc. Add some spice to the game. Mr 8bit&3/4 115 #11 Posted February 11, 2014 1) I am chilled, but you just made me hungry. 2) Okay a mech was a bad example. I meant items aesthetically like the gunslinger, that similarly allowed that mobility. 3) Why do you say that? They add at least some diversity. At the end of the day, why not just only have stock items then? If any other suggestion of something cool and potentially interesting is shot down by the notion that it is turning the game into something else. Tf2, to me, isn't in any particular way, adding these types of things doesnt make it anything but tf2. Granted mecha was a bad example, but the point was to suggest something with some kind of mobility that was technical, which frankly stays in tune with the game, considering the class is called engineer, thus having inventive technical devices makes sense. Personally the cloak for the spy seems more technical than a sentry. At the end of the day, whatever they add or dont add someone will be disappointed or claim they are changing it into something other than tf2. I am merely making a novel suggestion. Or in other words, tired of constant new hats and no interesting weapons to have fun with. Each to our own, but because I see it differently to you, does not mean I am a CoD player, trying to make it into something that isnt tf2, or not chilled, I just dont see it your way, and your way isn't the right or wrong way. I love the game, so of course it is fun to think of silly interesting wacky crap that could be added. Hell I love the idea of some kind of poison medi gun, which I know would probably not get used much as people would want kritz or uber, not a combat medic. I am sorry I prefer diversity over Unary.
