*RESOLVED* - I was banned a long time ago and I don't know why

So a couple years ago I was new to TF2 and played on LotusClan's 2fort server a lot. I never used voice chat and rarely used regular chat, and all I did was play the game poorly. One day I tried to connect and I got the message "You have been baned [yes, "baned"] from this server. Reason: ban evasion"

 

So I just blacklisted all your servers and thought nothing of it. Recently I've been irritated because of how many servers you have and how often I can't find servers to play on. I really do want to play on your servers, and I get a new message now-- "Added to banned list." which at least doesn't have a typo.

 

I don't even know what "ban evasion" qualifies as, because apparently you had no problem banning me, and I wasn't aware of any rules being broken. The only thing I can think of is that I switched computers, which used different routers, so my Steam ID was connecting to the same server with a different IP. That's literally the only reasoning I can give.

I've never been banned from any website or server before and I'm a rule follower. I suspect I was banned by a power-drunk admin or an automated process, and it wasn't justified. I know this appeal is late, but I feel like I don't deserve to be banned.

Ban Evasion involves connecting to our servers from a different account after your main or one of your alts had already been banned whether permanently or temporarily. We often ban accounts who have the same IP as accounts which are already banned.

 

Also I have found no records of any ban with your steamID. Staff will be here soon to assist you and come to a resolution with this problem.

One of the staff members banned you back in 2012 for ban evasion, which as Minia said, means joining on a server with an alt after previously being banned.
