Any artists want to donate some work?

Recommended Posts

As some of you know, I have an education in game development, I work as a software engineer for a national game & simulation company, and I have a few indie projects and YouTube programming tutorials.  I felt like making a reboot of an old game, and was wondering if there are any artists among us who would be interested in contributing some art assets?  Specifically, I need models and (skinned) animations in Maya, and of course any textures for them.  I also need sound assets, if there are any sound engineers among us, but I'm expecting to just license some generic sound effects and music. The game resembles a flight simulator, so most of the models would be ships, turrets, etc., and some simple human models and terrain features.  It should be original work, not borrowed, stolen, or licensed from somewhere else.  This isn't a for-profit endeavor, just a small side project for fun.  E-mail me at [email protected] (no, I'm not a brony, I just bought the domain 15 years ago for an old clan) if you want to make some ship models for me :)

This Donate thing you speak of.. Is that like selling something? or lending it out and charging interest?

What style would it be? Also are there deadlines?

No deadlines.  At this point, I'll take any textured aircraft model with guns on it.  The typical game art rules should apply (no verts unless it's part of the silhouette, normal maps for the rest), specular maps if you want to be extra shiny, backface culling, one-sided geometry, etc., no animations necessary except for human idling.
