fever 9,884 #3 Posted March 26, 2015 Yeah, thanks for posting. I was in a lobby at the time so couldn't do anything anyway thankfully (I mean accidentaly clicking on the link). They shipped all his decent gear immediately. Link took him to a website with a link to download something. Then his steam rebooted and he was unable to connect and was getting "connection issues". He does now have £1.14 in his steam wallet where there was no money before xD I told him to contact Valve and then sit on the naughty step and think about what he did.
___ 857 #4 Posted March 26, 2015 I have to admit this isn't the dramatic return to the forums I envisaged.

macamoose 2,574 #6 Posted March 27, 2015 He does now have £1.14 in his steam wallet where there was no money before xD Do NOT spend that. If money is accidentally turning up in your Steam account you need to contact Steam and wait 5 years for their reply. As the person who has got into your account could use this to try and convince services that the credit card that may be connected to your Steam is theirs - and possibly lead to your card account & money being used too. Sorry for being late for the party.

Sorry for being late for the party. Or if they don't like the fact that you got your account back they could do a chargeback. At which point valve will deny access to your account. That would only work if there was a debit/credit card involved. If its fake steam money from the market then there's nothing to worry about.
