Valve recognises the competitive scene needs change

Recommended Posts

To be honest i couldn't care for North America at all, and i lost faith in the china qualifiers when HGT didn't make it, but ended up watching most of the games, its already pretty high skill.... concerning the casters, i think that they got some excellent people around, and some people who are quite useless....

can't wait for europe though.

I think NAR, Complexity and Void Boys will mark a resurgence in the popularity of the NA scene. Wheel Wreck Whilst Whistling are also very good to watch. These teams might not win Ti (although Comp should do well) but they're entertaining to watch.

I dunno man, the NA scene looked on its way back but then RTZ and Zai went to Europe... it might happen though, would be cool. The problem i have with the NA scene that there are some personalities over there who act like they are great players, and play an important roll in the forming of the teamster and stuff, but aren't that impressive... If you compare that Demon guy with Puppey.... yet Demon has a huge influence over the NA scene... what i'm saying is that they need new blood that doesn't rely on the old elite. In Europe a team like Vega can take the T2 scene by storm in 12 months, with all new players.

2 people are not what makes DotA entertaining to watch.  You have to move on, as they have.

What i'm trying to illustrate is that the it feels like that the best players leave NA, which decreases the level of quality of NA series, especially in qualifiers because EG is most likely to be invited.

Maybe it's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy...NA is deemed to be less challenging due to the lack of very high level players, so up and coming players or the few remaining leave as to get in good teams they have to be of a highest standard so they need to challenge themselves...and so the cycle continues.
