Mog 0 #1 Posted April 14, 2008 Hello Lotus clan. I'm pretty fresh to your servers but I really enjoy them, and so does my wife. We play there more than 85% of any server on Team Fortress 2. I really enjoy some of the people who play there, and it's fit into my favorites out of two total servers. Some days when I go on, depending on the people who are playing, I'll be serious, or more along the comical side. Last night, I was on the comical/serious side because most of the people were all joking around. Until eventually it got out of hand. We began receiving quite a few Vote bans of anonymous people. Vote bans for people who were AFK. Vote bans for people who had the top scores. Vote bans for people who basically said anything. I kept my mouth shut when I began seeing all these bans flying everywhere, until one guy said, "I'll be right back, I need to grab a drink." Someone eventually began a Vote ban on him, and when people asked why, everyone just said "He's AFK." After that I said, "Christ, you don't have to ban these people." Then I received one. My wife then left and we looked for another 24/7 2Fort server, but I would really like to come back to the Lotus Clan's and I'm sure she wouldn't mind it either. We'd really appreciate it. *- On another note, I believe the people who were voting everyone off were a group of friends. I'm not sure how long a vote ban goes on for, but I was thinking it was permanently which is why I'm here. However, I could be wrong, it may not have been them, but they were probably the most obnoxious people in the server at the time. They all had some sort of Russian-related name. Camail 1 #2 Posted April 14, 2008 This is why I don't like voteban, I guess unless someone could come on here and give videos of you hacking you shouldn't be banned, and neither should the others. Sadly the respectable players aren't organized enough to voteban people who need it. Hopefully Mana will clear this up. Always disturbs me when stuff like this happens . Mana 3,867 #3 Posted April 14, 2008 It's definitely not permanent. I will not say the exact time. But it's under a day. It might last longer if people keep on extending map via vote or just the timing for it is weird. Meaning bans only update when a map changes. When were you "banned"? EDIT: I do not see any bans on that server. So I'm guessing either you have already been unbanned or you will be when the map changes. Also, i'll be increasing the amount of votes needed for a voteban. To make sure it's more unanimous . Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I was just sorta worried about it being permanent because I tried last night about 1-2 hours after the ban and figured it was permanent. - Thanks again, hope to see you all in the server! =) I'm pretty terrible at remembering times but I know it was last night between 6-8pm MST. Thanks for trying though. 4742[/snapback] As I said, the map needs to change. It does that every 300 minutes or so. EDIT: I've increased the Voteban % from default of 35% to 80%. Mog 0 #10 Posted April 16, 2008 I have. My wife went in there to try and assure a map change, once it changed I tried again and it still says I'm banned. (Last Night around 8:00pm MST) I must've been permanently banned. They did do a Voteban on me twice. The first one failed then the second one went through.
