SoWz 0 #1 Posted August 9, 2008 This is what I heard through the grapevine. Heavy unlockables: Boxing Gloves -> more damage for the fists Sandwich -> replaces shotgun (either +50 or +100 HP) Gatling Gun -> less damage, but if it hits and enemy, they move 50% slower (thus they stay in range longer). We will see what truly gets released, but it seems about right :EDIT: BOXING GLOVES HAVE BEEN REVEALED! (1/1 for predictions)
Captain Falcon 0 #2 Posted August 9, 2008 Wait aren't those upgrades? Aren't the weapons supposed to be alternative? And fix the medic problem? Those won't really help. Sandwich should be a 4th weapon.
Novas 0 #3 Posted August 9, 2008 The last one is mostly likely fake, because valve has said they will not add any thing that affects a player's control of their character.
DarkClaw 0 #4 Posted August 9, 2008 They are supposed to be replacement weapons, not upgrades btw, so those are probably fake... which grapevine were you picking to get this info? XD This is something I found, just for fun. Maybe Valve's will make this an unlockable!
Rydawg 14 #5 Posted August 9, 2008 ^^^^ pure awesomeness
Falkin 0 #6 Posted August 10, 2008 'Sandwich'? Is he going to be picking out the meatz and cheezes and throw them at people? Slapping them with hard rye bread? Can the scout steal it? Space Marine Heavy = <
LuckyLidirt 0 #7 Posted August 11, 2008 I wouldn't be suprised if Melee were brass knuckles for the heavy...then again, that's a little uncreative
SoWz 0 #8 Posted August 11, 2008 I heard this from a guy who apparently beta tested the weapons. I am skeptical myself, but I thought it would be a bit of fun to discuss the possibilities.
Alucard winrar 0 #9 Posted August 11, 2008 sandwich would be interesting but it would have to be a one use item if it were to heal. And its not like heavies use their shotgun that often(even though its the ranged weapon they can use while moving). But yeah these dont seem that likely. Nket 16 #10 Posted August 11, 2008 heavy doesnt need updating, they are awesome already
Alucard winrar 0 #11 Posted August 11, 2008 heavy doesnt need updating, they are awesome already I agree, its odd that valve is doing this. Medic was in need of a popularity boost, pyro was just a sucky class(arguably this has been gone to the opposite extreme), but heavy was just fine. Valve said one of their goals was to make heavies less medic dependent. huh? That could be said of any class. Guess valve hasnt heard 'dont fix it if it aint broke'. SoWz 0 #12 Posted August 11, 2008 Yeah the Heavy is fine just the way he is. I think now that they took away the +50 HP for the Pyro, it is a better balance.
Falkin 0 #13 Posted August 12, 2008 Well whether or not the heavy is golden as is, Valve has pretty much locked themselves into this achievement roll-out theyre doing for every class. All to early to say though since we dont know what else is coming down the pipe for everyone else. Dont envy the person who mostly plays the class near or totally last in line. :S
Doxt 1 #14 Posted August 12, 2008 I'll bet demo is last. I really hope they do scout next.
SoWz 0 #15 Posted August 12, 2008 They have really been milking this thing... I thought all achievements would have been out by now. Guess I was wrong.
Alucard winrar 0 #16 Posted August 12, 2008 Actually, I think spy is gonna be last. It's the easiest class to unbalance and some of the other class unlockables might inadvertently tip the balance so if they do him last they can fix up anything wrong. I cant wait til they hit my favorite classes sniper and demo.
coda 1 #17 Posted August 12, 2008 scout! scout! scout! i'm begging you gabe...
