Alucard winrar 0 #2 Posted August 13, 2008 Get faster internet somehow or find servers closer to you. I'm sorry if thats not helpful but honestly I'm not sure there is anything else you can do.
EagleEyes 0 #3 Posted August 13, 2008 there are a few simple things but not always possible -1 if you are accessing a wireless network, get a network cable and wire your comp straight to your router for a start, can easily double your speed just doing that -2 take off any load there could be on the network at your place, make sure no other comp or program is running/downloading -3 in your control panel/network connections, go see the properties of the connection you're using right now, if you see anything that could look like a QoS packet planner (not sure if its named like that anymore) just rip it off there

Mana 3,867 #6 Posted August 14, 2008 all i know it Windows is actually supposted to be faster on a mac What? Macs use outdated hardware which sells for much more... it definitely won't run better or faster on a mac than it would on a good computer.

Mike808 1 #11 Posted August 15, 2008 I wouldn't own a computer if I lived in Hawaii. I'd be too busy living in Hawaii. yes u would. if you lived here there isnt much to do cause you live here. Unlike visiting when you can do everything only once, if you live here than you did everything so much that its now boring. the surfing will never get boring, but nowdays the surf sucks ass. Mike808 1 #14 Posted August 15, 2008 you run VISTA on a MAC? Im sorry but i think you need help. i have OSX and Vista on my Mac i just need to pick the one i wana run when i turn on the computer. all new mac come with bootcamp built in bootcamp allows users to run windows or any other op system locally with all components and with out virtual windows. so vista is actually faster on a mac because of macs low need for RAM and other stuff http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/bootcamp.html http://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/#tutorial=windows http://www.apple.com/macpro/ http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/

Mana 3,867 #17 Posted August 16, 2008 Nah vista is faster on a machttp://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/ http://www.apple.com/getamac/ http://www.macnn.com/articles/08/04/17/macs.better.at.vista/ http://www.crunchgear.com/2008/04/17/battl...etter-than-pcs/ http://scissormonkey.wordpress.com/2007/12...ista-faster-ad/ Even PCworld said that a mac pro runs vista faster than a pc. but i cant find the article it was replaced by this one http://www.pcworld.com/article/136649-3/in...ks_of_2007.html http://www.gregbelldesign.com/apple/macs-r...aster-than-pcs/ http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/new...ista-better-pcs http://www.informationweek.com/news/window...cleID=207400285 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=M...faster+than+PCs It can not be faster. Unless you compare a Pentium 4 PC with a dual core mac. Compare your Mac with my quad core at 3.7 GHZ with a 9800GX2. I wonder which one runs vista better. If the specs are matched it will only run it the same/slightly worse. Apple switched to Intel CPUs some time ago now... which are the same CPUs that are being used by a lot of oems. Simply put: If you buy a dual core mac for 2000$ you can get a a Quad core for the same price with a better graphics card and more ram amongst other things... Infact you can now run Mac OS X on any PC Dual Core and up. http://laughingsquid.com/installing-leopar...ree-easy-steps/ You act as though i will click those links to apple.com >.>http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebO...D?nclm=7504C42F 500$ for 2gigs of ram, please stop giving Steve Jobs a hand job 2gigs of PC ram cost me 40 dollars, and i have 5-30 ping on all servers I was not kidding when I said that macs use overpriced and old hardware: Same speed ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820134635 And you can get much faster at 4 gigs at a lower price still. so vista is actually faster on a mac because of macs low need for RAM and other stuff When running in Vista mode it uses the same amount of ram (well slightly more due to bootcamp) when compared to a PC. It's still the same OS regardless of which computer it runs on...except for the fact that you do need bootcamp on the mac. Which will use more resources, be it one megabyte or more it won't make much of a difference. But if you are truly comparing same spec PC and MAC then ofcourse the PC will run Vista or any other native X86-64 OS faster due to no extra bootloaders/resources spent on things such as bootcamp. Camail 1 #19 Posted August 16, 2008 Well you can't expect to go on a gaming forum and find someone pro-mac. Now if you went somewhere where the most they know about computers is that when it starts making noises that means its thinking, you get a pro-mac base. Mana 3,867 #20 Posted August 16, 2008 People who know about computers would tell you to use Linux not Mac or Windows. See with Linux EVERYTHING is free. With Macs you have to pay for new updates which they cal new OS, hardware is slower but costs more and with Windows you get antivirus programs which are extra upon the licensing fee of the OS itself... well some people don't like it but use it anyway :S. At this point I really would see no reason to get a Mac. If all I wanted to do is browse the internet then I could just get a 200 dollar laptop that could do it just fine with Linux. And if I wanted to also play games on it then I could get a gaming laptop which would cost less than a mac and could run Mac OS X anyway.
