Above player had a different name at the beginning, I asked him twice to please stop blatently using "nigger" in his chat messages. So he begun to change his name repeatedly to name like the above and taunting me with asking me how much my pussy hurt.

This didn't bug me as much as a member of Lotus that will be anonymous for calling me a christian and whatnot.

Oh and apparently the above steam id said he was "tight" with you Mana.

I'm not Christian. I'm caucasian. I find this word very offensive and I think anyone with an education(allbeit a small about) from Mississippi would agree.

If someone uses that word a few times... It won't be a ban. We have no word filter, we allow swears so we can't just randomly ban people for this.

However if someone keeps on doing it after others ask him/her to stop just to spite them... Then we have a problem.

This has been going on for years. It is nothing new. It isn't the words themselves that are offensive. It is what they represent. And afaik, racism is still illegal. But if you just want to laugh at it, or encourage it, be my guest. Just don't expect much understanding.

Okay you bleeding heart you, find a different set of servers that offers the same thing as the Lotus servers do. I guarantee you, you'll find: Servers filled with Aimbots, Wallhacks, Haxors in general, and people that offend you because admins still don't give a shit. People like you need to relax and smell the roses. Regardless, with as many active players that exist in these servers, I doubt you'll be missed all that much.

As for how to react, I've always found the best way to diminish the effect of people that annoy you is to just ignore them. They do it for exactly this reaction that you've chosen to spew. If he was reading this, who knows maybe he is, he'd be laughing his ass off at you right now for taking him seriously. As for my own personal opinion, I'm a pretty liberal person, you do the math. I'm generally way too busy actually y'know, playing the game, to give a damn about what someone uses as their in-game handle.

Here's the thing... If it's used in the name, go to their profile and report it to Valve. They will deal with it.

But otherwise... it's just words. What would happen if everyone just ignored it? Would people keep on using? I really doubt it. But as long people make a fuss out of it then some will be using. racism isn't illegal it's protected by freedom of speech and the freedom of ones own opinion hate crimes on the other hand are illegal and calling someone a certain word isn't illegal it could be consider harassment if it's directed at you. Multiple times.

The one who kept spamming the word was doing it to see the reaction he got and you gave him the reaction he wanted so he kept doing it. I rarely encounter people like that on this server because 90% of the time we just continue with our business and ignore him. He usually leaves or just shuts up either way.

Turn off your speakers or cover your screen with post-it sticky notes if you don't like seeing that word because god forbid you type in the word racism on Google.

We don't give a shit about freedom of speech or opinion,if you're being offensive or harassing people - you're not going to be welcome.
