costs money plus it's really not that good. plus it's real time, so people see exactly what raises their ranks- so you get that idiot making 400 sentries in his spawn and becoming ranked in the top 100.

The issue with stats is that there is stats. People care too much about their k:d, rank # and skill level. That they will do things that dont help the team in order to gain a rank, level, etc. I dont know how many times I have switched to Spy to sap a Sentry that an uber has a hard time getting to, and I die multi times getting in, but when I do finally get the stab n sap my team wins.

If you help the team your rank will be much better than you just getting kills. Sentry Destructions are worth more than kills (like sentry sapping). And if your team wins after that then you get even more points for it.

The server logs every action you do and everything (short of walking) gives you something.

Not that I care much about stats, but I've been playing almost exclusively as heavy and medic the last 2 weeks or so...The last few days I've had some really good runs as heavy (almost 5:1 KDR for a few hours in Arena) so I wanted to check my stats, but haven't had much luck: yesterday it was showing me as a mainly spy player, today it switched to engy...I haven't played either of those classes in a while...whats going on?

They are being reprocessed from nearly the begging. Will take a day or so to catch up. Only doing about 700 lines per second one server at a time.

A real demo doesn't die when destroying a sentry. I stopped dying from sentries after 60 hours of demo.

In that case you would only gain points. Sentry Destruction + Team Win + Round Win.
