Mana 3,867 #26 Posted October 26, 2008 see mana's postthe gameplay is no way similar between the 2 games though? because crysis, even though it has linear objectives, is a complete open map, giving you the ability to do pretty much anything to get to your objectives Crysis has multiple maps and multiple loading screens and gaps between them. Far Cry 2 is more like an... RPG fps. Gothic 3 kind of? Only different. Instead of a horse like you might get in your common RPGs you get a car, or a truck. Instead of a sword you get a machete. Instead of a fireblast you get a flamethrower. Instead of a map... you get a map and then you do quests... and shoot people. Yeah it's exactly like Far Cry 1/Crysis. Completely. 100% (the location too).

You suck and have no life 203 #31 Posted October 27, 2008 LOL, You guys gonna love this. Im still gonna beat the game though. Im glad I didnt pay for it... http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1359023 Im playing it right now, i got everything set on very high, it looks pretty nice. Although i do agree with you 100%. It just doesnt have that "OMG I want to keep playing feel". Warhead did it for me, it was full of action! This one, just seems like a stalker/crysis wannabe. Stab yourself with a syringe, get call, drive to spot, kill person, get diamonds, buy guns, get sick, pop a pill and repeat the process. I'm not too far into the game.... but come on? The intro was awesome with all the firefights but this is getting ridiculous. Far Cry 2's world sucks. Basically what they did was they drew a system of towns, roads, and outposts and put mountains around all of it. Then along side off the roads they spammed trees, broken down cars, and if they were feeling giddy they put a puddle in the middle of the road. There is a difference between a truly open game that is SO boring that you wish it was linear and one that makes you want to actually explore your surroundings, like Oblivion did for me and many other gamers. silvio 0 #32 Posted October 27, 2008 Sounds just like stalker. The boredom factor I mean.
Mana 3,867 #33 Posted October 28, 2008 thanks for the honest review before I actually bought it.I knew it would end up being like farcry 1 and boring.. It would still be a totally different kind of boring. Crytek would feel offended if you compared the two. (Due to the fact that they did not make it). Stalker might be a better comparison. Nket 16 #34 Posted October 28, 2008 Far Cry 2 would be FAR BETTER if the soldiers didnt respawn at their posts every 2 minutes, clearing out a post should mean just that, its cleared out, so driving through it again 10 minutes later should not get a jeep following me and a bunch of angry africans. also yes i spent 50 dollars to be bored. The Multiplayer is fun though
