Well, I have bought it through steam now and it is installing, appearantly it is as good as HL2 and Bioshock which both of them were amazing so i spend my hard earned saved money since i have no job on it. Get it so we can multiplayer it, mana said he is setting up Lotusclan Multiplayer servers! Most of us Lotus people appear to have it already

I cant play multiplayer for reasons I cant mention or mana will get pissed. Apparently the more money you make, the stingier you become. I cant believe i spent 29 bucks on steam to get Lego Batman, and I realized its for 10 year olds, and its imported from a console..... I think I bought it at 3am when i was really bored.

Back to far cry 2. The graphics is running a lot better and more optimized than crysis. Im able to get 40 fps with 1920x1200 with 2X AA and Very High Settings. For the people with radeon 4800s there is a hotfix update specifically for Farcry 2 that is a must if you are going to play it.

HL2 was awesome, Bioshock got boring after a couple stages. Will get FC2 and L4D when L4D comes out

How dare you. that game was epic. Although I did find that at somepoint in the middle(the docks) it was a little boring, it got a lot better.

I would run it at low. But low isn't bad at all.

Well I just don't know if I should buy it on PC or on my X360.

It seems pretty well optimized, I've been playing on almost all high (except for shadows) and it runs better than crysis on low

I have it, I think it's as visually pretty as Crysis only you don't get the same GPU rape. My 4870 runs it with all settings on maximum @ 1680 x 1050 average 40FPS. I can't get multiplayer working though, I think because PunkBuster doesn't start when I open FC2 which means when I get booted out of multiplayer.

the problem with great graphics is i cant see shit. With all the bloom lighting all up in my face, and the shadows and bushes, I cant even see the enemy. This mother fucker was down and shooting me in the grass with pistol, took me 5 minutes to find where he was.

Now that you guys have played it for a while, whats the verdict? Is it worth buying? Torrenting? Or is it not even worth gracing my hard drive? I'm itching for a good single-player game and its either gonna be this or Fallout 3.

the game is 100% non linear. You run around in a square map doing missions. Basically assassinate people. Then you run around looking for hidden suitcases around the game with diamonds in it lol. Maybe i haven't played enough of it, its not very climactic.

I've had some great "oh snap" moments, the freedom you have to approach each mission gives it good replay value. Even if the mission is the same assasination type (one of the sources of missions seems to be, it's easy money tho), the choice of weapons and potential tactics can make it very different each time.

Last night I bought a dragunov for a mission and I just happened to find a perfect vantage point up above a train station, it was great fun picking off people and watching the others panic.

And playing multiplayer and enjoying it last night I was glad I bought it.

Oh and a tip: turn up the difficulty, it makes good strategy much more vital.

This has nothing to do with Far Cry 1. Far Cry was made by Crytek (Crysis). Far Cry 2 is Ubisoft Montreal. They are just franchising unrelated games to sell more .

the gameplay is no way similar between the 2 games though? because crysis, even though it has linear objectives, is a complete open map, giving you the ability to do pretty much anything to get to your objectives
